  • Patent number: 10265695
Abstract: A pipetting system includes: a pipetting device; a pipetting container including a plurality of pipetting positions into each of which the pipetting device pipettes liquid; and a positional relation detector configured to detect a positional relation between a front-end position of a tip and each of the pipetting positions. The pipetting device includes circuitry configured to, when a pipetting switch that orders pipetting is turned on, on condition that the front-end position of the tip detected by the positional relation detector is located at one of pipetting positions that is indicated by a pipetting pattern set up in advance, allow pipetting corresponding to the pipetting pattern, and on condition that the front-end position of the tip detected by the positional relation detector does not correspond to a corresponding one of pipetting positions that is indicated by the pipetting pattern set up in advance, disallow the pipetting.

  • Patent number: 10208736
Abstract: A high-pressure fluid mixing pump control system and a fluid suction control method, the system comprises a transmission threaded rod and a resolver sensor, wherein: one end of the transmission threaded rod is connected to an oil cylinder piston of a mixing pump, while the other end of the transmission threaded rod is connected to the resolver sensor either directly or via a rotary element that rotates coaxially with the transmission threaded rod. The high-pressure fluid mixing pump control system implements precision control via a mechanical means, converts a linear motion of the piston into a rotary motion, and utilizes the resolver sensor for precision measurement of a rotation angle, thus acquiring a piston displacement amount, and finally acquiring a suction volume. At the same time, an accelerator and an electric brake are also designed, for controlling starting and stopping of the mixing pump.

  • Patent number: 9962692
Abstract: In one aspect, the present invention provides methods, devices, and systems for ensuring that multiple components of a mixture are fully mixed in a continuous flow microfluidic system while ensuring that mixing between segments flowing through the chip is minimized. In some embodiments, the present invention includes mixing fluids in a droplet maintained at the tip of a pipette before the mixture is introduced to the microfluidic device. In another aspect, the present invention provides a pipette tip having a ratio of an outside diameter to an inside diameter that provides sufficient surface area for a droplet comprising up to the entire volume of the liquid to suspend from the pipette tip intact. In yet another aspect, the present invention provides methods, devices, and systems for delivering a reaction mixture to a microfluidic chip comprising a docking receptacle, an access tube and a reservoir.

  • Patent number: 9904295
Abstract: A method for defining an automated process which is to be carried out in a liquid handling system, wherein the liquid handling system comprises an outlet element (e.g. a pipette) for aspirating and/or dispensing a liquid volume, a numerically controlled movement apparatus for carrying out movements in connection with the aspiration/and or dispensing, and a controller for controlling the process, having the following steps: using a graphic user interface in order to enable the user to predetermine parameters which are to be used by the liquid handling system when carrying out one or several substeps of the process, wherein at least a first parameter is dependent on a second parameter in such a way that the first parameter is adjusted automatically by the system if the second parameter changes.
