Abstract: The invention is directed to a process for preparing cyanic acid from urea, comprising atomizing urea in a tubular reactor in the presence of a stream of a carrier gas to obviate the formation and deposition of by-products on the inner walls of the tubular reactor, thereby increasing the efficiency and production yields of the process.
Abstract: A method for improving the adhering ability of a vulcanized rubber surface by treating said surface with a solution of iodine isocyanate or a mixed solution of iodine isocyanate and iodine to provide a high adhering ability to said surface. The thus treated vulcanized rubber surface can be adhered strongly to other vulcanized rubber or the other various materials by contacting these materials tightly using an adhesive or without using an adhesive.
Abstract: The instant invention is directed to a process for preparing carbonyldiisocyanate comprising reacting N-chlorocarbonylisocyanate with trichloroisocyanuric acid and/or an alkali metal salt of dichloroisocyanuric acid at a temperature of from about 20.degree.C to about 200.degree.C.
Abstract: Cyanates of alkali and alkaline-earth metals are prepared by reacting a salt such as the hydroxide, carbamate or carbonate of the metal in aqueous solution or slurry with cracked urea gas which is a gaseous mixture of ammonia and (iso)cyanic acid.
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for the preparation of carbonyl diisocyanate, CO(NCO).sub.2, which comprises reacting trichloroisocyanuric acid and/or an alkali metal salt of dichloroisocyanuric acid with phosgene at temperatures of from about 150.degree. to about 200.degree.C.
