Abstract: Compositions for the remineralization and prevention of demineralization of the teeth of animals including humans in the form of two phases, one phase containing a water-soluble calcium compound and the other phase containing a water-soluble phosphate and optionally a water-soluble fluorine compound. The concentration of calcium and phosphate (PO.sub.4) ions is about 50 to 35,000 ppm and 50 to 40,000 ppm respectively, and the amount of fluorine compound is about 0.01 to 5.0%, all by weight of the total composition. The compositions may also contain at least one of a conventional flavoring substance, aroma substance, surfactant, astringent, polishing agent, thickener and preservative.

Abstract: Method for oral treatment of dogs and other animals comprising administering a composition having slow release to the gums of dogs, the composition comprising a multiplicity of microencapsulated liquid droplets of flavoring material and anti-plaque agents contained in a carrier. The microencapsulated droplets are soluble in the saliva in the mouth to release the flavoring material and anti-plaque agents. The flavoring material is released at a sustained rate for long periods of time in the mouth to mask mouth odor while the anti-plaque agent prevents plaque build-up during release and in the case of chlorohexidine acetate for several hours thereafter.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved method for cleansing of human teeth to help reduce and control dental plaque as an aid in preventing dental caries and periodontal disease. In particular, it relates to a viscous composition of particular characteristics and a process for application thereof to accomplish these objectives.
Abstract: A dental composition comprising, as an essential ingredient, water-soluble haloplatinate and a pharmaceutical carrier or diluent, prevents and inhibits dental caries. The composition exhibits its anticarious effect by inhibiting both digestion of the soft tissue in dentin with a protease and decalcification of the hard tissue in dentin with an acid.
Abstract: A cleaning composition is disclosed which is especially suitable for cleaning beer tubes or lines and comprises an alkali metal-phosphorous salt, tincture of iodine and water. The cleaning composition is conveniently packaged in a dispensing container such as an aerosol container for injection into beer lines such as those employed in the tapping of a beer keg.
Abstract: 4-Chlorophenyl-2-thienyliodonium chloride and similar salts are useful in the prevention of dental plaque and calculus, thereby minimizing or preventing gingivitis, caries and related periodontal disease.
Abstract: N-haloamines also containing a hydroxy group, a sulfonic acid group, and N-acyl group or a carboxylic acid group are useful in treating teeth to remove caries, dissolve or remove plaque, to help in the prevention of calculus formation and in the brightening of teeth. The compounds can be used in solution or in carrier form as a paste.
