Abstract: The specification discloses an insecticidal bait composition for cockroaches and a related method of its use for the control of cockroach infestations. The composition contains boric acid in an amount between about 5 to about 40 wt. % based on the total weight of the composition together with an amount of attractant foodbaits for attracting the roaches to the composition so they will consume it. The preferred composition contains between about 30 and 35 wt. % boric acid and the foodbaits making up the remainder of the composition consist of crushed yellow onions and cane sugar each in an amount equal to about 12.5 wt. % of the remainder composition, and milk and flour each equal to about 37.5% of the remainder of the composition. The preferred composition has a gummy paste-like consistency and is particularly well-suited for application to cracks, crevices and other pest pathways.
Abstract: Aqueous ophthalmic compositions containing water-soluble borate-polyol complexes are useful in aqueous ophthalmic compositions containing polyvinyl alcohol. These compositions provide the benefits of a borate buffering system, such as enhanced antimicrobial activity, without the problems associated with the use of borate and pol, such as formation of borate-polyvinyl alcohol complexes which are water-insoluble.
Abstract: The present invention relates to compositions and their methods of manufacture and use which are effective for delivering a homogeneous distribution of a boron containing active ingredient to a tree or tree derived substrate for the purpose of preventing or eradicating an infestation and/or for imparting flame retardency thereto.

Abstract: A paste composition for preserving wood which contains as its only active wood preservation ingredients a mixture of a water-dispersible copper naphthenate and borax.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a bait composition for insects comprising a mixture of cucumbers, eggs, potatoes, sugar and honey. The bait composition can incorporate an insecticidal mixture of boric acid, mercuric chloride, arsenic trioxide and aluminum sulfate.
Abstract: It was discovered that the chemical compositions, comprising ammoniumpentaborate and alkali metal and/or alkaline earth metal: sulfates, -sulfites and/or -hydrophosphates are excellent pesticides against wood decaying insects and fungi. The compositions of matter are also useful as fire retardants and anti-smoldering agents in textiles, wood materials and synthetic polymers.Mixtures of bariumtriborate and these barium salts (SO.sub.3, SO.sub.4, and/or HPO.sub.4) are useful as fire retardants in cellulose materials, paints, adhesives and synthetic polymers. The barium- and calcium-triborate compositions also act as pesticides and are useful in wood preservation against wood boring insects and wood decaying fungi.Ammoniumpentaborate (NH.sub.4.B.sub.5 O.sub.8.4 H.sub.2 O), ammoniumtetraborate [(NH.sub.4).sub.2.B.sub.4 O.sub.7.4 H.sub.2 O] and disodiumoctaborate (Na.sub.2 B.sub.8 O.sub.13.4 H.sub.
