Abstract: The present invention includes a cranberry seed oil, a cranberry flour and a method for making cranberry seed oil and flour. The cranberry seed oil comprises beta sitosterol and phosphatidylcholine.
Abstract: Compositions and methods are provided for reducing oxysterol buildup in the blood and normalizing cholesterol and blood pressure, in a mammal. The compositions comprise Morinda citrifolia extract, red wine extract, prune extract, blueberry extract, pomegranate extract, apple extract, and an enzyme mixture.
Abstract: Novel compositions derived from grapefruit and cranberry are disclosed, as well as therapeutic uses for the compositions in treating or preventing cancer and hypercholesterolemia in a subject. The compositions are, in particular embodiments, derived from grapefruit essence oil, grapefruit peel oil, grapefruit peel, and decharacterized cranberry fruit.

Abstract: A non-food anti-microbial-adhesion and aggregation composition comprising a suitable carrier and an effective amount of an adhesion inhibitory fraction isolated from juice from berries of the Vaccinium plant genus. In an embodiment the anti-aggregation and adhesion fraction is isolated from cranberry juice. It is characterized as being polymeric and having a molecular weight ≧14,000; an elemental analysis of carbon 43-51%, hydrogen 4-5%, no nitrogen, no sulfur and no chlorine; a nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) line spectrum as set forth in FIGS. 2A and 2B; and an ultraviolet spectrum with an absorption peak at 280 nm in neutral or acidic pH solution which is absent in alkali solutions. This fraction exhibits adhesion inhibitory activity against P fimbriated bacteria, oral bacteria and Helicobacter pylori.
Abstract: Compounds isolated from plant materials, particularly plants of the genus Vaccinium, which have biological activity measurable as inhibition with adhesion of bacterial cells to surfaces, and an extract of such plant materials which is significantly enriched for the anti-adhesion activity. The specific compounds include procyanidins (also known as “condensed tannins”), leukocyanin, leucodelphinin, flavonol glucosides including myricetin-3-pyranoside and proanthocyanidin extracts. These proanthocyanidin extracts are capable of inhibiting agglutination reactions of P-type E. Coli. The extracts containing proanthocyanidins contain at least one A-type interflavanoid bond. Methods of making an extract.

Abstract: Compositions and methods for treating eye discomfort are provided. The compositions comprise singly or in combination herbals, natural nutritional supplements, minerals and vitamins. Methods of making these compositions are also provided.
Abstract: A composition and method for stabilizing proanthocyanidin, especially for preventing, for example, its discoloration by oxidative polymerization. The method utilizes (and the composition contains) proanthocyanidin, and an amino acid having a hydroxyl group or a dipeptide containing said amino acid. Also shown is a drink, food, cosmetic or medicament which contains the composition.
Abstract: This invention relates to nutrient and therapeutic compositions for treatment and prevention of symptoms and disease conditions associated with microangiopathy and macroangiopathy and to methods using the compositions. In particular, the invention relates to compositions useful in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy and nephropathy, to compositions useful in the treatment of other retinal disorders including macular degeneration and cataracts, to compositions useful in wound healing, to compositions useful for treatment and prevention of neuropathy, to compositions useful for treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease and to compositions useful for the treatment and prevention of dental and periodontal disorders.
Abstract: A composition and a method for treatment of prostate related dysfunction and, particularly, non-bacterial prostatitis and, even more particularly, non-bacterial chronic prostatitis. The composition primarily relies upon the use of a bioflavonoid and, particularly, that bioflavonoid known as quercetin. The quercetin is mixed with a proteolytic digestive enzyme protease, such as bromelin and papain, as the primary active ingredients. However, the composition may optionally and beneficially include other prostatitis affecting agents, such as zinc derived from zinc gluconate, cranberry, saw palmetto, as well as some other active and non-active ingredients.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for providing non-lipid, liquid form herbal extracts in a vegetable gelatin, HPMC, or any other cellulose derivative capsule. The process includes extracting an herbal plant material with an alcohol to provide an aqueous alcoholic herbal extract. The aqueous alcoholic herbal extract is contacted with sufficient glycerin to maintain the extract preferably in solution, and at least dispersed in the mixture of glycerin and aqueous alcoholic herbal extract. Alcohol and water is removed form the mixture to provide a glycerin-based liquid or semi-solid herbal extract and having a moisture content of less than 10 percent by weight, and preferably less than 5 percent by weight. The herb extract is then encapsulated in a vegetable gelatin, HPMC, or any other cellulose derivative capsule.
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of producing a reconstituted fruit, herb, and/or seed fiber product, the product produced using the method, and dietary supplements containing the product. The steps used to produce the product include expressing juice from a fruit, herb, or seed; concentrating the juice by removing water; infusing pomace obtained during expression of the juice with the concentrated juice, and drying the steeped pomace to obtain a dry, non-hygroscopic, free-flowing nutritional supplement.
Abstract: The present invention provides nucleic acid sequences for T-cell receptors which recognize tumor associated antigens. In particular, T-cell receptors which recognize melanoma antigens. This invention also provides T-cells expressing the antigen specific T-cell receptors. In addition, this invention provides stem cells expressing the antigen specific T-cell receptors or chimeric receptors. This invention further relates to therapeutic and diagnostic compositions and methods employing the T-cell receptors and chimeric receptors provided herein.
