Alternatively, the shaving aid composite may comprise a sheath of water-insoluble polymer that surrounds a core which includes a skin-lubricating water-soluble polymer and an inclusion complex of a skin-soothing agent with a cyclodextrin.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 1995Date of Patent: August 5, 1997Assignee: The Gillette CompanyInventors: Frank E. Patent number: 5643597Abstract: Use of a tocopherol phosphate, other than alpha-tocopherol phosphate, especially in its dl or d form, or one of its esters having general formula (I) in which: R' is hydrogen atom, an alkyl radical having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, such as the methyl or ethyl radical in particular, R'O is a tocopheryl radical; R" is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl radical having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, such as the methyl or ethyl radical in particular, or R"O is an oxyethylene chain, of formula (a) in which R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are independently a hydrogen atom or a methyl radical, and n is an integer of 1 or over; R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are independently a hydrogen atom or a methyl radical, it being understood that R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 cannot simultaneously be a methyl radical. A represents the groups (b), or (c).Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 1995Date of Patent: July 1, 1997Assignee: LVMH RechercheInventors: Alain Meybeck, Marc Dumas, Frederic Bonte, Christian Marechal

Patent number: 5631012Abstract: Moisturizing cosmetic compositions for topical skin applications with an active component comprising a lipid mixture having approximately 1 part of specific mixed saturated fats, 1 part of specific monounsaturated fats, 0.25 parts of specific polyunsaturated fats, 4 parts of specific phospholipids, 2 parts of glycolipids and trace quantities of waxes and aminolipids. The formulated topical cosmetic products containing the lipid mixture impart moisturizing skin effects totally safe and highly efficacious. The proportions of lipids approximate those of the vernix.Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 1994Date of Patent: May 20, 1997Inventor: David Shanni

Patent number: 5587156Abstract: Shaving compositions for use in the personal shaving process with a razor blade assembly include insoluble solid particulate additives. The shaving compositions include a mixture of at least one wetting agent, at least one cleansing agent, at least one lather producing composition, and at least one emollient; and further include at least one solid, insoluble particulate additive in a well dispersed suspension throughout said shaving composition. The solid additives are present in an effective amount to produce physical microscopic support for the blade of a razor blade assembly during the personal shaving process. By providing micro-support of the razor blade parallel to skin surface and above surface irregularities, the solid particulate additives provide improved razor blade glide, thereby preventing nicks and cuts, and also enhancing exfoliation of dead skin and removal of grease and oils, as well as improving hair extraction prior to cutting, thereby improving overall smoothness of the post-shaven skin.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 1996Date of Patent: December 24, 1996Assignee: Critical Dimension, IncorporatedInventor: Mark S.
