  • Patent number: 6156364
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of forming proofed dough for baked goods in a predetermined shape, as well as an apparatus for practicing the method. The apparatus includes a closed dough handling system that includes a pressurized dough mixer, a dough transporting device joined to the pressurized dough mixer, and an injection molding device joined to the dough transporting device. The method includes the step of transporting proofed dough from the pressurized dough mixer through the dough transporting device to the injection molding device, wherein the injection molding device fills the injection mold with dough when it is connected to the dough transporting device, thus forming one or more pieces of dough having the predetermined shape within the molds. The injection molds containing the dough may then either be conveyed into an oven to form a baked piece of dough having the predetermined shape, or conveyed into a freezer to form a frozen piece of dough having the predetermined shape.

  • Patent number: 6106274
Abstract: A transfer/injection molding apparatus is defined that includes a charge forming unit, a molding unit and a charge overflow unit. The charge is formed so that the fibers therein are randomly oriented in substantially parallel horizontal planes such that they are always substantially parallel to the direction of initial flow into the cavity of the molding unit. Excess charge from the cavity is forced into the charge overflow unit, which is selectively located in an area where surface finish is less critical. The excess charge displaces an overflow pin, which is kept upwardly biased, under molding pressure, to be flush with the lower inside wall of the molding unit cavity.

  • Patent number: 5698242
Abstract: An injection molding apparatus includes a nozzle which is directly connected to a mold for injecting a molding material into the mold. The mold defines at least one cavity in the shape of a element to be molded and at least one gate passage, each gate passage interconnecting a separate cavity with the nozzle. The shape of the gate passage permits a rapid curing of any residual molding material, and permits separation of the mold and the nozzle before the molding material in each cavity is cured. The nozzle is then used for a subsequent procedure or molding process while the molding material in the cavity cures. The nozzle defines a first bore and a second bore arranged longitudinally in sequence, and a side hole for introducing the molding material into the first bore. The nozzle includes a first plunger which is selectively reciprocally movable in the first bore, and a second plunger which is selectively reciprocally movable in the second bore and in a central bore defined in the first plunger.

  • Patent number: 5462421
Abstract: A method and mold apparatus are provided for forming and trimming a vehicle inner door panel. The panel is a shaped laminate including a vinyl cover layer and a structural foam backing layer having a glass fiber reinforcing substrate. Upper and lower mold members have peripheral seals which define a mold cavity when the mold is closed. A plurality of movable trim blades are carried by the lower mold member adjacent the seal. The trim blades move among retracted, intermediate and extended positions. Hydraulic rams open and close the mold and move the trim blades. Sheets of vinyl and substrate are placed across the lower mold member and the mold is closed to seal the substrate and vinyl layer about their periphery. As the mold closes, abutment surfaces on both mold members advance the trim blades to an intermediate position to pinch the cover layer against the substrate inwardly of the peripheral seals. A two-part polyurethane liquid foam system is injected into the cavity.

  • Patent number: 5022847
Abstract: In an injecting unit of an injection molding machine, a feeding unit is mounted on a feeding block and serves to feed the material to be processed through a shaft into a plasticizing cylinder. The feeding unit is mounted on a carrier, which is slidably mounted on a track rail so that the feeding unit can be emptied into an emptying passage. The track rail extends along and is symmetrical to the vertical line of symmetry of the injecting unit. Owing to that arrangement the injecting unit is substantially symmetrical and when the feeding unit is in emptying position its center of gravity is disposed in the vertical plane of symmetry of the injecting unit or is close to said plane. Besides, the feeding unit can be moved approximately in said plane of symmetry to its emptying position.

  • Patent number: 4917587
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for the production of building units from an afterhardening mixture containing cement and/or lime as binding material. The raw mixture is continuously fed and pressed by stamping into a die with CO.sub.2 gas at a pressure higher than atmospheric being passed through the raw mixture in the die space. Through an instantaneous reaction of carbonation, the material is hardened to a formed body. The CO.sub.2 gas is prevented from escaping by a gastight seal in the vicinity of the inlet port of the die. Further towards the outlet port, the pressure of the CO.sub.2 gas is decreased. In the vicinity of the outlet port only as much CO.sub.2 gas is fed as is necessary for the completing of the chemical reaction. Thus, any loss of gas will be minimized. The continuously discharged body is cut to size by using a saw.
