  • Patent number: 7090800
Abstract: A mold, a molding machine and a method of molding a plastics material in a mold cavity is described which relies primarily on movement of a part of the mold to provide the pressure necessary to force the plastics material melt to fill all the parts of the mold cavity. The method comprises the steps of applying a light pressure to close the mold, injecting a predetermined quantity of molten plastics material into the mold cavity at a pressure which is such that the injection of the plastics material can cause the cavity to expand in volume against the resistance of the light closing pressure, and applying a high pressure to close the mold fully after completion of the injection step.

  • Patent number: 7077637
Abstract: The present invention is a force detecting controlling device for a screw of an injection molding machine, which utilities a load cell as a force sensor for injection, holding pressure and back pressure. The load cell arranged on a rear fixed plate directly detects a force applied onto a ball screw nut. Because the ball screw nut is fastened on the load cell, and the load cell is fixed on the rear fixed plate, the force on a ball screw is directly transmitted to the ball screw nut. Therefore, a total value of the force on the ball screw produced by back pressure and friction among mechanical parts are equal to a force value of the ball screw nut applying onto the load cell. The injection force detected via the load cell for an instant response reaches a close loop control and procedures of holding pressure and back pressure are specifically controlled as well.

  • Patent number: 6613262
Abstract: A mold apparatus provides a movable mold module which includes movable tie rods which are extendable and retractable with respect to the movable mold module of the mold apparatus, such that the tie rods may initially be removed from a gap between the platens of the mold apparatus when the platens have been separated. Preferably, the tie rod assemblies are movably mounted to the movable carriage or module, which also moves the injection machine and movable platen along a base toward and away from the fixed platen and corresponding mold part. Additionally, the tie rods may be extended relative to the movable platen as the platen is moved toward the fixed platen, such that the tie rods engage a locking member on the fixed platen to lock the platens relative to one another during the molding process. The tie rods are rotatable via a rotational device mounted at the movable platen, to rotate the tie rods and lock the tie rods to the locking member at the fixed platen.

  • Patent number: 4708631
Abstract: An injection unit is disclosed with bridges for carrying a plastification cylinder and plastification screw, which bridges are capable of moving along stationary guide rods. The bridges also carry a central injection cylinder and drive cylinders, the drive cylinders being diametrically disposed with respect to the injection cylinder. An antirotation arrangement includes diametrically disposed support bearings to prevent the rotary drive motor as a whole from turning. The surfaces of the plunger pistons of two decompression cylinders serve as such support bearings. The plunger pistons are anchored adjacent one of the bridges, i.e., the bridge which bears the plastification screw. This bridge forms a structural unit with the other bridge. The overall arrangement frees the guide rods to a great extent from the repeating cyclical stress of bending due to resisting rotation of the rotary guide motor as a whole.

  • Patent number: 4636167
Abstract: Injection pressure acting on a molten material inside a nozzle in an injection process also acts on a mould clamping piston disposed in an injection cylinder to face an injection piston. The injection pressure acting on the mould clamping piston is transmitted to an auxiliary platen mounted at the right ends of tie bars, thus producing tensile force in the tie bars. Because of the tensile force, a movable platen mounted at the left ends of the tie bars is pulled toward a stationary platen, which in turn presses a movable mould against a stationary mould. Consequently, clamping force proportional to the injection pressure acts on the moulds, thus firmly clamping the moulds.

A plurality of molds are moved one at a time to the outlet end of the extruder for receiving the plastic material therefrom. One end of the mold is open for receiving the plastic material and the opposite end of the mold includes a closure plate covering the end of the mold.
