Frictional Application (i.e., Rubbing Solid Coating Material On Base) Patents (Class 427/11)
  • Patent number: 4007520
Abstract: In a process of producing capacitors, synthetic dielectric layers carrying metal layers thereon are wound, in a stretched condition, about a drum to form a mother capacitor. Individual capacitors are then formed from the mother capacitor by sawing, with a rotating saw blade, through the mother capacitor. Due to the heat which is developed during sawing, the stretched layers contract in the region of sawing causing a break up of the metal layers which then oxidize to form insulating islands. This process is improved by applying an insulating lubricant to the saw blade to increase the dielectric strength of the capacitors at the saw cuts.

  • Patent number: 3954512
Abstract: Iron, steel, and iron base alloys are provided with coatings made by forming an adherent oxide layer on the surface, treating the oxide layer with at least one Group III metal, then oxidizing the Group III metal, after which the oxidized Group III metal is treated with pyrochlore-microlite mineral. The coatings are useful for providing corrosion and oxidation resistance, particularly at elevated temperatures.

  • Patent number: 3941897
Abstract: A process for the continuous paraffining of yarns in which the yarns are drawn under tension over the top of a rotating cylinder that has been coated with a layer of solidified paraffin. The cylinder then rotates back through a bath of molten paraffin to replace the paraffin removed by the yarns, the outer surface of the cylinder being cooled to a degree sufficient to solidify the paraffin before it contacts the yarns.
