    Abstract: Provided is a fine structure which allows the formation of a highly accurate metallic replica mold. The structure is resistant to breakage even in the presence of foreign particles or bumps and causes a smaller transfer failure region even when applied to an undulating object to be transferred. Also provided is a stamper for imprinting, which conforms to local bumps of a substrate to be transferred, causes, if any, a smaller pattern transfer failure region, and has satisfactory durability. The fine structure includes a supporting member; and a pattern layer having a fine asperity pattern formed on a surface thereof. The pattern layer is made from a resin through curing of a resin composition containing a cationic-polymerization catalyst and two or more organic components having different functional groups, and the supporting member and the pattern layer each transmit light having a wavelength of 365 nm or longer.

The required ratio of submicron boron nitride to silica has been discovered for assuring the formation of a high temperature resistant elastic composite blend that will form intermediate flexible ceramic products up to 600 deg C., then continue to form preceramic then dense ceramic products from 600 to 1000 deg C. The thermal yield of the composite is generally greater than 90 wt. % at 1000 deg C. Composite products with different levels of heat transformation can be fabricated within the same product depending upon the thickness of the layers of reinforcement.

Then, a pigmented, water-based graining coat (most preferably a crosslinkable urethane/acrylic) is applied sparingly, preferably by use of a dampened foam/sponge pad or sprayed, in an amount sufficient to overcoat the base coat and color at least a majority of texture recesses in the substrate and drying. According to the kit aspect of the invention, the kit will comprise: an opaque, pigmented, water-based paint emulsion; a pigmented, water-based graining coat emulsion, optionally packaged in a bottle, such as one with a spray. Optionally, the kit can include an applicator or surface cleaner, a scraper, brush, cloth, sponge, or combination. The process of the invention can be completed within 3 to 12 hours at temperatures ranging from just over 55° F. up to over 85° F.

A method of the present invention includes first providing a coating material in a tube. A pig device is then positioned in the tube, the pig device being sized and orientated to disperse the coating material along the tube's inner service. The pig device is then motivated through the tube to apply the coating material to form a coating on the inner surface.

    Abstract: A kit and a process for using it to impart wood grain appearances are provided. According to the method, an opaque, pigmented, water-based paint/stain emulsion is applied to a wood-grain textured substrate and dried. Then, a pigmented, water-based graining coat water-based graining coat (most preferably a self-crosslinked urethane/acrylic) is applied sparingly, preferably by spraying from a small bottle, in an amount sufficient to color at least a majority of texture recesses in the substrate and drying. According to the kit aspect of the invention, the kit will comprise: an opaque, pigmented, water-based paint/stain emulsion; a pigmented, water-based graining coat emulsion, packaged in a spray bottle. Optionally, the kit can include a surface cleaner, a scraper, brush and/or cloth.

Next, the electrostatic powder coating process is performed again to form a secondary powder bed/layer over the entire surface of the toothed portion. Then, the primary and secondary powder beds/layers are melted or fused by induction heating to thereby form a coating film of a substantially uniform thickness.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a method for removing wrinkles formed on a web, which is continuously transported through a plurality of guide members. The plurality of guide member includes a crown roller which has the diameter gradually increased toward the center thereof. The crown roller is placed in a transport path of the web and downstream of a first zone in which wrinkles are desirably removed, and the web is deformed in a second zone located downstream of the crown roller so as to at least decrease the width of the web, whereby the wrinkles in the first zone are removed. Even when the web is thin (10 ?m or less), without using particular backup means, wrinkles formed during transport and coating of the web can be removed. In addition, since wrinkles are appropriately removed, a coating film having a uniform thickness can be obtained by an extrusion coating method.
