Abstract: A ceramic bonding material including at least one fibrous material, a flux agent and a thickening agent wherein the ceramic bonding material fired at a set temperature to bond the two adjacent substrate faces.
Abstract: Heating devices such as self-cleaning ovens include at least one surface comprising metal oxide crystalline catalytic material disposed thereon. The metal oxide crystalline material includes perovskite and perovskite-like materials, pyrochlores, rare earth metal oxides, spinels, and combinations of the foregoing. Also disclosed herein are processes for process for forming a pyrocatalytic coating on a substrate.
Abstract: A lead and cadmium free glass for decorating and enamelling glasses or glass-ceramics having a small coefficient of thermal expansion is disclosed comprising the following components (in wt.-%): ?(Li2O+Na2O+K20) 0 to 10, ?(MgO+CaO+SrO)?0.1, SiO2>65. Preferably, the glass according to the invention is mixed as a glass frit with pigments, fillers and other additions and applied to glasses or glass-ceramics having a very small thermal expansion. Bending strengths of more than MPa can be reached, in particular when coating substrates made of lithium aluminum silicate glass-ceramics.
Abstract: A molded clay object with decorative indicia and a method for preparing a molded clay object for receiving finishing decorations, where the steps include applying ceramic paint to the molded clay object with an applicator to trace on the molded clay object a complete outline of decorative indicia, firing the molded clay object in a kiln to fix the outline in a permanent state whereby the object is prepared to receive coloration and other decorative material applied by a user prior to being glazed and fired a second time to produce a finished object; and cooling the molded clay object in the kiln to room temperature.

Abstract: A ceramic color composition comprising, as represented by mass percentage, from 60 to 85% of a low melting point glass powder, from 15 to 40% of a heat-resistant pigment powder, from 0 to 15% of heat-resistant whiskers, and from 0 to 15% of a refractory powder, wherein Fe3O4: 1 to 35%, MnO2: 1 to 24%, Cr2O3+CuO≧1%, and Cr2O3/8.5+CuO/23+NiO/3.3+CoO/0.71+V2O/56+Se/0.45≦1%.
Abstract: Aluminium nitride ceramics improved in heat radiation property used as a substrate for integrated circuits and package material, comprising a sintered article consisting mainly of aluminium nitride and having a thermal conductivity higher than 100.W/m.K at room temperature and a surface layer consisting mainly of aluminium nitride or oxide glass deposited on the sintered article.
A paste of aluminium nitride powder or oxide glass powder is coated on a surface of the sintered article of aluminium nitride and then is sintered to prepare a dense smooth surface layer.
Abstract: A method for forming an insulating film, wherein a precursor film of a coating type insulating film having Si—H bonding is coated, the precursor film is calcined in an atmosphere containing at least one of an inert gas and oxygen gas for converting it into a ceramic film as the insulating film, and then the ceramic film is cooled under reduced pressure lower than that for the calcination.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of forming germanium-containing silicones in which germanium is incorporated into the siloxane backbone with Ge—O—Si bond or onto a carboxylated siloxane in a form such as the germanium ester form, which has a COOGe bond. The germanium mole content ranges from 1 mol % to 50 mol %. The groups attached to silicon and/or germanium include alkyl, alkenyl, and carboxyalkyl and their derivatives. In the materials with pendant carboxylic acid groups, the protons can be replaced by metal ions such as an alkali, alkaline earth, transition metal, or rare earth metal ions. The materials can be crossinked, with the crosslinking being initiated by ultraviolet light or other means with or without a photoinitiator.
