Abstract: The invention relates to a metallic-colored thermoplastic molding material, which contains metal glitter in various admixtures. In addition, the invention relates to a method to manufacture this molding material and its use in molded bodies with openings. No visible formation of flow lines occurs with the use of this molding material, so that the quality of the goods manufactured is improved. For this purpose, it is planned that the percentage by weight of the metal glitter in the thermoplastic molding material lies between six and 15%, wherein the size of the glitter is not in a Gaussian distribution, but the molding material to a large extent contains only equally sized glitter particles in glitter mixtures.

Abstract: The present invention provides a tape carrier substrate that can prevent a conductor wire on the tape carrier substrate from being broken at the boundary portion between the conductor wire and a slit formed in a folding portion of the tape carrier substrate. The slit is formed in the folding portion of the tape carrier substrate so that the width thereof located on an extensional portion side of the tape carrier substrate is larger than that located on a central portion side of the tape carrier substrate. Possible stress resulting from bending of the tape carrier substrate is thus distributed. This prevents the stress from concentrating at the boundary portion between the slit and the conductor wire.

The adhesive sheet further includes a plurality of microscopic holes connecting the opposing surfaces of the sheet and being generally perpendicular to them. Such adhesive sheet is permeable by air and allows good bubble escapability when the sheet is applied to an article. Sufficient permeability of the sheet to air is achieved with microscopic size holes installed in modest areal densities, hence the appearance and functionality of the film surface are not significantly adversely impacted. One intended use of the subject invention is for tinting films used to reduce light transmission in windows for use in buildings and automobiles. In this application visual appearance of the film is paramount.

Abstract: A micro-perforated laminae includes a layer of material having a plurality of spaced-apart perforations, in which the total open orifice area of the perforations is about 0.1% to 100.0% of the total surface area of the layer of material. The layer of material can be a thermoplastic material, metal foil, cellulosic film, woven, paper and/or nonwoven. The perforations can be slits, with each slit having a length of no more than about 120 mils (3.0 mm). The total open orifice area of perforations can be in the range of about 0.1 mm2 to about 100 mm2 per square centimeter of the total surface area of the micro-perforated laminae. The two surfaces of the micro-perforated laminae may be surface treated to alter surface energy. The micro-perforated laminae can be used singularly or in combinations with multiple layers which in themselves may or may not contain micro-perforations and surface treatments.

The resultant paper can be useful as a replacement for glassine paper, and can be useful in secure documents. The transparent field is integral to the paper substrate and can be formed by laser techniques surprisingly resulting in a transparent field retaining acceptable strength characteristics after lasing. The transparent field acts as a self authentication device.

Abstract: A composite netting is used for wrapping bales with a baling machine. The composite netting includes a continuous netting component, and a discontinuous, breathable material component. The breathable material component is partially attached to the netting material. In some embodiments, the breathable material is attached only along the leading edge of each breathable material panel. As a result of the attaching technique the stretching properties of the netting are not transferred to the breathable material. Thus, each component of the netting retains its individual properties. Each bale is initially wrapped with about one wrapping of netting material, followed by about one wrapping of breathable material and a partially attached net that is continuous from the first section. After this, one or more additional netting layers may be applied if desired.
