Display In Frame Or Transparent Casing; Or Diorama Including Or Imitative Of A Real Object Patents (Class 428/13)
  • Patent number: 4212133
Abstract: In a picture frame vase, a picture frame surrounds a board made of attractive material, and the board has a rectangular opening below a center. A water pocket is mounted on the back of the board just below the rectangular opening, so that stems of flowers may be inserted through the rectangular opening and into the water pocket. The narrow pocket holds the stems inward so that the flowers, standing upright, generally lie along the face of the board. The frame in a preferred embodiment is made with sufficient depth so that the frame, and not the water pocket, contacts the wall. The size of the frame and size and shape and position of the opening are variable, and the water pocket size, shape and position are changeable. One frame, face, board and pocket are a completely molded one-piece unit. A frame has a mirror finish to enhance the appearance of the device when it supports flowers.

Abstract: An identification device including a flexible securing element and a three-part composite tag connected to the securing element. The three-part composite tag includes a pair of outer elements of complementary elliptical configuration, and a central indicia-carrying element of elliptical configuration which is complementary to the outer elements. The elements of the tag are interconnected for pivotation about a common pivotal axis for movement from a registering, superimposed position to an expanded, separated relationship. The outer elements are at least partially transparent to permit visual observation of indicia on one or both of the opposite sides of the central element.

  • Patent number: 4183554
Abstract: A semi-laminated security pouch for a tamper proof identification card is disclosed. The identification card to be protected by the security pouch has a glass bead security coating on a front face which provides an indication if indicia are tampered with on the face of the card. The pouch comprises front and rear film leaves with a heat reactivatable adhesive layer on the rear leaf card-facing surface. The rear surface of the card is centered against the rear leaf for lamination. The front leaf does not have a heat reactivatable adhesive layer thereon since such a layer would destroy the retroreflective visual characteristics of the glass bead security coating. The front leaf card-facing surface does, however, have the bond promoting coating thereon such that when the pouch is assembled, peripheral portions of the front leaf come in contact with peripheral portions of the rear leaf extending beyond the card edges.

  • Patent number: 4177305
Abstract: A wall hanging having a variable picture made of a multitude of interchangeable tiles which snap-fit onto a specially configured picture support assembly. A frame decoratively surrounds and contains the tiles. Each of the tiles has an eccentric image or eccentric geometric pattern thereon and can be rotated on a peg to various positions to attain a variety of pictures. Even more pictures can be obtained when different patterned tiles are exchanged with each other. In one embodiment, the tiles and pegs are rectangular and the pegs have a concave corner to facilitate removal of the tiles. In another embodiment, the faces of the tiles are circular and rotate upon cylindrical pegs. The tiles can also be transparent with window-like pockets that receive reversible decorative members.

Abstract: A sand art hobby craft kit which includes a plurality of substantially transparent tubes which preferably are parts of a unitary structure. The combination also includes a plurality of supplies of differently colored flowable media, preferably sand. There is the outline on the front face of the structure of a design that defines areas to be colored differently. The combination also includes means such as a base for supporting the tubes in vertical position with their upper ends open and for closing the lower ends of the tubes. A color indicia chart indicating the colors for each area also is provided. Color bearing flowable media other than sand may be provided, if desired. The color indicia chart may be a colored print of the final design such as a picture, or it may have each area of the picture color coded to the supplies of color bearing media.

  • Patent number: 4142383
Abstract: A method for the production of decorative objects by providing a viscous liquid and a particulate metal and/or mineral through an opening in a hollow transparent glass envelope and then bonding a cap over the opening with a resin impervious to said liquid is described. The refractive index of the viscous liquid and glass are approximately equal visually. The viscous liquid is preferably glycerine admixed with clear miscible solvents which reduce the viscosity depending upon the metal or mineral used. The liquid is provided through the opening in the hollow glass envelope without wetting the sides of the opening in a manner which leaves a gas (air) pocket inside the envelope adjacent the opening and above the liquid and then a cap is bonded over the opening adjacent the gas pocket. The decorative object is preferably in the form of jewelry, such as earrings or pendants.

A frame is then secured around the periphery of the strip of material and the mold members are removed so that a hardener may be applied to the entire strip of material. The strip of material with the attached frame is then dried thus completing the relief sculptured sound grill of the present invention.
