  • Patent number: 7923095
Abstract: A method of forming a molded plastic article with a second surface with molded extensions, and a first surface that is substantially free of sink mark defects. The method involves forming, from a first plastic material, a first molded section with at least one molded extension extending from the second surface. The molded extension is formed in a mold recess with a reversibly positionable slide. After formation of the first molded section, the slide is retracted to a second slide position thus forming within the molded extension a retainer cavity that is in fluid communication with an aperture in the first surface of the first molded section. A second plastic material is introduced into the mold over the first molded section, and a portion thereof passes through the aperture and into the retainer cavity, thereby forming a second molded section that is continuous with each retainer.

  • Patent number: 7918971
Abstract: A belt (shoe press belt) for a paper making machine, which has good ability of squeezing water from moist paper and which, during use, has reduced damage (cracks and wear) on the outer peripheral surface of the belt. The shoe press belt for making paper carries felt for receiving water squeezed from moist paper. A water discharge groove extended on the surface on the felt side is formed as an intermittent groove, and the width and depth of the water discharge groove are continuously varied in the direction of travel (MD direction) of the groove. The shape of the intermittent groove can be asymmetrical or symmetrical at the left and right with respect to the width, or can be formed to have a narrow width at the center of the groove, or can be formed so that the groove is deep at the center. Because the water discharge groove is intermittent, water discharge ability, the quality of paper, and the smoothness of the surface of moist paper are enhanced at the same time.

Abstract: According to the invention, the resin film to be divided is finely divided along the grooves, whereby the ends of images or characters of photos or the like can be cut off finely. The resin film to be divided is provided with the grooves, thereby finely cutting off the ends of images or characters output on the surface thereof. Further, the resin film is as the lowermost layer, the adhesive layer is provided thereon, and the paper or plastic film with the image receiving layer coat is provided thereon. The grooves formed by cutting the paper or plastic film with image receiving layer coat are previously provided, and the grooves enter a portion of the resin film to be divided, whereby after an image is received, the ends of the film can be finely cut off.

  • Patent number: 7829178
Abstract: A delamination development preventable structure is provided to prevent the development of delamination in a sandwich panel including a core and surface plates attached to the opposite surfaces of the core with respect to the thickness of the core. Arresters 5 are protruded inward with respect to directions parallel to the thickness of a core 3 from surface plates 4a and 4b. The development of a delaminated part formed by the separation of a part of the surface plate 4a from the core 3 and that of a delaminated part formed by the separation of a part of the surface plate 4b from the core 3 beyond the arresters 5 can be prevented. Thus delamination can be limited to a narrow local region and the spread of the delaminated part over the entire sandwich panel 2 can be prevented. Thus the development of delamination in the sandwich panel 2 can be prevented and the durability of the sandwich panel 2 can be enhanced.

Abstract: A housing having a woven appearance includes a substrate and a plurality of groove groups formed on the surface of the substrate. The groove groups define the woven appearance and are formed by etching. The housing may be made by using a film having a lightproof areas and a light-transmissible areas, the lightproof areas defining a woven appearance. The film is placed over a metal substrate having light-sensitive materials formed thereon and radiated with light. The light passing through the light-transmissible areas of the film solidifies the light-sensitive materials. After, removing the film from the substrate and cleaning un-solidified light-sensitive materials from the substrate to expose areas corresponding to the lightproof area, and an etching process is carried out to form the woven appearance on the exposed areas.

Abstract: An insulation system of a building having a plurality of spaced-apart support members has an insulator with a plurality of ribs are formed thereon. A concave portion of each rib receives one of the support members. A panel covers, and is secured to the support members. An exterior covering element is secured to an exterior side of the panel. A radiant heat barrier is bonded between the insulator and the panel. The insulator defines air ventilation channels between the foam insulator and the panel for venting air from building. An insulator assembly for a building has a sheet of foam insulation with a plurality of channels intermittently formed in the sheet of insulation. Each channel has a concave side and a convex side. The concave side is adapted to receive a support member of the building. A radiant heat barrier is bonded to a surface of the foam insulation.
