  • Patent number: 10953433
Abstract: Methods for modifying contours of substrate surfaces are disclosed. Methods include depositing filler material on a critical mating surface of a substrate so as to render the mating surface more mateable with a matching substrate. The filler material can be deposited within or around features or defects on the mating surface such that a final desired surface contour is achieved. In some cases, the final surface contour of the mating surface is planar. This can prevent gaps associated with the features or defects from forming between the substrate and the matching substrate when they are joined together. The final surface contour of the mating surface can be determined by comparing dimensions of the mating surface to dimensions of a reference surface. In some cases, ink jet printing techniques are used to deposit the filler material accurately in prescribed locations and with precise thickness control.

The plurality of flooring products can be positioned adjacently to comprise a complete flooring assembly. Such a flooring assembly can be facilitated by including features along edges of the flooring product for securing or engaging one flooring product to adjacent flooring products. For example, the flooring product can be arranged with one edge as a tongue and an opposing edge as a groove, where the tongue of one flooring product can be fitted into the groove of an adjacent flooring product to secure or engage the two flooring products together. In another example, edges of the flooring products can be arranged to form lap joints upon engagement.

  • Patent number: 9658729
Abstract: A touch panel is configured so that a lower glass substrate with a very low thermal expansion coefficient, as its lower substrate, projects outwardly from outer edges of an upper film substrate. Since a front design sheet is secured to the lower glass substrate, a housing, which is a molded article, need not be provided with any area for the fixation of the front design sheet. Thus, the distance from the contour of a display unit to a display area can be reduced, so that the display unit can be reduced in size.

  • Patent number: 9259895
Abstract: A flexible substrate and corresponding method of manufacturing are described. The flexible substrate includes a substrate, a first buffer layer, a second buffer layer and a third buffer layer. The first buffer layer, positioned on the substrate, has a plurality of first buffer segments. The second buffer layer, positioned on the first buffer layer, has a plurality of second buffer segments. The third buffer layer, positioned on the second buffer layer, is connected to the first buffer layer via a contact hole between two adjacent second buffer segments. Because the first buffer layer is patterned to include buffer segments, cracking in the first buffer layer is reduced. Because the third buffer layer is connected to segments of the first buffer layer via a contact hole between two adjacent second buffer segments, moisture permeation paths from the substrate into the second buffer layer are blocked, suppressing moisture permeation.

Abstract: A laminate is disclosed, which includes: a core layer having an adhesive property; an isolation layer directly adhered to the core layer; and a metal layer attached onto the isolation layer such that the isolation layer is sandwiched between the metal layer and the core layer. Therein, the metal layer is directly adhered to the core layer through an outer peripheral portion thereof and not attached to the isolation layer. As such, during fabrication of a packaging substrate, the metal layer and the isolation layer can be automatically separated from each other by removing the bonding portions of the metal layer and the core layer.
