Abstract: A pressure sensitive removable adhesive is applied on ribbons used for wrapping the counted bundles of currency notes. The wrapping is in a way that a portion on the sides of the stack of notes will face enough amount of adhesive, to adhere each leave of the note with the ribbon strap, so that pulling out a note from a packed bundle will become difficult. Trie tape will have tear lines made of perforation or cuts so that it will disintegrate if opened. The adhesive can have chemical and/or colour coding for further security.

Abstract: A method of introducing discontinuities to an adhesive coated region of a substrate is provided. The method includes the steps of (a) providing a web having upper and lower edges; (b) excising a portion of the web creating open sections interposed between retained sections connected to carrier sections, each including the upper or lower edge of the web to yield a patterned web; (c) perforating the patterned web such that the perforations span from one open section to the next open section to yield a perforated web; (d) contacting the perforated web to the adhesive coated region of the substrate; and (e) removing the carrier sections at the perforations leaving the retained sections on the substrate.

Abstract: A tape-type magnet including a soft magnetic substrate which is a thin strip or tape with magnetic attraction. A first adhesive layer is uniformly laid on one face of the magnetic substrate. A releasable facial layer is bonded with the other face of the magnetic substrate via a second adhesive layer. The adhesion provided by the second adhesive layer is greater than an adhesion provided by the first adhesive layer, whereby the releasable facial layer is releasable from the first adhesive layer. The magnetic substrate is wound into a roll with the second adhesive layer serving as an outer face and the first adhesive serving as an outer face and the first adhesive layer serving as an inner face. An outermost end of the magnetic substrate can be easily unwound and tore off into a segment.

Abstract: A fluid absorbent tape is divided into sections that can be separated to customize the length of the tape and simplify use. In one embodiment of the invention, the fluid absorbent tape includes an absorbent material enclosed in a fluid permeable cover to form an elongated fluid absorbent tape. Separating structure formed in a transverse direction through the elongated fluid absorbent tape divides the elongated tape into a first section of fluid absorbent tape and a second section of fluid absorbent tape. The first section of fluid absorbent tape is separable from the second section of fluid absorbent tape along the separating structure. In another embodiment of the invention, the fluid absorbent tape includes a fluid absorbent material including a super absorbent polymer. An elongated fluid permeable cover having a length encloses the fluid absorbent material, and is divided into sections along the length.

Abstract: The invention provides an injection molding process, in which a gate is cut off within a mold in resin molding to obtain a good gate-cut surface, as well as a resin molded product and a resin molding mold. In the injection molding process, a cutting pin, which is connected to a cutting pin working plate provided in parallel with a driving device or an ejector plate provided in a mold, slides on a mold parting line between a fixed-side block, on which corner cutting or a R shape is provided at the approach port, and a movable-side block opposed to the fixed-side block. The wall thickness of a compression shape portion opposed to the cutting pin is larger than that of a gate and a product shape portion. The cutting pin compresses a resin in this portion toward the product shape portion at predetermined timing to cut off the gate portion and integrate the resin with the product shape.

Abstract: A cut or precut absorbent sheet intended in particular for wiping, includes at least two plies or groups of plies of creped absorbent paper with a basis weight ranging between 12 and 35 g/m2 per ply, at least one of the plies having an embossed pattern made up of protrusions directed towards the inside of the sheet and forming cavities between them. Some of the protrusions are distributed over at least one of the plies in such a way as to define portions of curves which in particular form concentric circles around or near the geometric center of the outline of the sheet; and the set of protrusions belonging to one ply of the sheet forms alignments which constitute an embossed pattern with central symmetry with respect to the geometric center of the outline of the sheet.

Abstract: A flexible packaging structure has built-in opening features in a laminate with a first structure adhesively joined to a second structure. A tear area is formed by laser ablation of the laminate along a junction between the first and second portions preferably prior to assembling the laminate into the package. Laser ablation begins at the center of the tear area and progressively moves the laser in a direction radially outward from the center of the tear area. During assembly of the package, a seal is formed between end portions of the first and second portions of the laminate. A score line and a sealant reduction area are also introduced to the package to facilitate opening. The package is opened by pulling the seal near the tear area in a direction along the score line until the contents of the package are accessible.

Abstract: A self-adhesive purge dam for retaining purge gas around a weld zone includes a base configured to substantially obstruct an air passage leading to the weld zone and an adhesive skirt extending from the base and configured to engage portions of the air passage. An adhesive on the adhesive skirt allows the skirt to be adhered to the air passage. An optional removable backing covers the adhesive prior to installation. The adhesive skirt is deployable from a stowed position wherein the adhesive is generally disposed in an interior portion of the purge dam to an installation position wherein the adhesive can be pressed against a surface to which the purge dam is to be adhered. The purge dam can be installed by inserting it in the air passage with the adhesive skirt in the stowed position, removing the removable backing prior to or after insertion in the air passage, exposing the adhesive, and deploying the skirt to the installation position for adhesion.
