It provides a cover over the cable allowing run off of rain, snow and sleet. Grooves present on the edges of the descending members disrupt ice buildup on the cable and increase the ice prevention efficiency of the ice cap. Descending members of the ice caps could also extend over neighboring cables to which they do not attach directly to prevent ice formation on them.

    Abstract: A weighted tarp for providing a waterproof covering that can remain in position without the need for cables, bungee cords, external weights, or other fasteners. The tarp includes a multi-layer sheet having a first and second layer of waterproof or water-resistant material. The first and second layers are coextensive and are preferably secured to one another via an adhesive. A plurality of weights is disposed between the first and second sheets. The weights are preferably flat disks and are arranged in a grid, such that the weights are spaced at fixed intervals. The weights help to maintain the tarp in a desired position without the need for additional fasteners, and the weights serve to evenly distribute the weight of the tarp. The tarp includes grommets on the perimeter or corners thereof, allowing the user to further secure the tarp using cables, if so desired.

A method of making the composite part is disclosed in which a woven mat having an opening is filled with resin. Another method is also disclosed in which loose fibers are shielded from being deposited in a portion of the mold that is subsequently filled with resin.

The loop layer may be a carded nonwoven of thermoplastic crimped staple fiber. The staple fiber may be between 1.5 to 6.0 dTEX. The loop layer may have a basis weight of between 10 and 35 g/m2. The backing layer may be a spunbond or spunmelt nonwoven having a basis weight of 5 to 30 g/m2. The loop layer may be superimposed face-to-face with the backing layer. The plurality of bond regions joins the loop layer to the backing layer and rendering said bond regions substantially air impermeable. The bond regions comprise between 35 to 55% of a surface area of the loop material.
