Abstract: An apparatus for covering a pipe component comprises a base layer having first and second edges sized and shaped to extend around a pipe such that the first and second edges are proximate to each other and a polymer layer applied over the base layer. The apparatus further comprises a first fastener applied to the first edge between the base layer and the polymer layer and a second fastener applied to the second edge between the first base layer and the polymer layer adapted to engage the first fastener. The apparatus may be formed by wrapping the sheet about a mold connecting the first and second fasteners together with a wire therebetween, applying the first fastener and second fasteners to the first and second edges, applying a layer of polymer over the first and second fasteners and removing the wire from between the first and second fasteners.

The component has a sealed, moisture-resistant, A-surface edge. The component includes a first outer layer having an A-surface, a second outer layer having a B-surface and a core positioned between the outer layers. The core has a large number of cavities. The outer layers are bonded to the core by press molding. An edge portion of the component is locally crushed by the press molding so that the layers are bonded together to form the sealed, moisture-resistant, A-surface edge.

A multilayer insulation includes flat reflection elements (21, 22). Abstract: A traction element for carpeted stair treads or other flooring includes a deformable substrate secured by screws to the tread that is vertically aligned with the top edge of a riser and slightly rearward of the tread leading edge. The substrate is covered with adhesive backed friction tape. The screws extend through respective apertures centered in respective concave tapered annular recesses defined in the substrate. The apertures are in a linear array defining a bend axis along the substrate length and the tread width and about which the substrate deforms as it is being threadedly attached to the tread. When thusly bent the substrate top surface becomes concave such that its forward edge is higher than its rearward edge, thereby establishing a slight forwardly extending incline. The tape strip conforms to the bent substrate and its exposed top surface comprises a high friction or abrasive substance.

The web assembly comprises a plurality of horizontal straps comprising a top strap and a bottom strap mechanically coupled to a plurality of vertical straps comprising a left strap and a right strap. A right durable strap and left durable strap are mechanically coupled to at least one horizontal strap where the at least one horizontal strap is further mechanically coupled to the right strap and the left strap. In this manner, a user can wrap the web assembly around the glove and affix the right durable strap to the left durable strap with a hook and loop fastener, and allowing for the straps to deform slightly to make and maintain the contour of the glove.

The depression has bottom and side surfaces formed by the first outer layer. The member further includes a connector fixedly secured to the bottom surface of the depression to attach a second generally planar member to the first outer layer of the structural member.

Abstract: A highchair system enables removable attachment of objects to a tray of the highchair and protects the highchair from food and liquid spills. A flexible slipcover is removably attachable to the highchair tray so as to extend over at least an upper surface thereof. A permanent magnet or a ferromagnetic material is associated with the slipcover. Objects, such as a dish or a toy, are held in place on the highchair tray by magnetic attraction forces. Tethered utensils may be removably attachable to the dish.

Abstract: An exercise equipment protective covering system and method is disclosed which generally comprises a front surface having an upper portion and a lower portion. A back surface is coupled to the upper portion of the front surface such that a retention pocket is formed there between. A pair of retention straps are coupled to the lower portion of the front surface and used to secure the protective covering to an exercise training bench. The front surface may include a graphical indicia thereon. Also, an accessory pocket is coupled to the protective covering for the storage of personal items.

Abstract: A carpeted, vehicle load floor including a pivotable, carpeted cover segmented into articulated sectional members is provided. The load floor includes a compression-molded composite panel and the segmented cover to removably cover a storage area in the interior of the vehicle. The cover is segmented into articulated, planar sectional members to allow desired cover positioning over the storage area. The members are pivotally connected to one another for folding one over the other. The load floor also includes a substantially continuous carpet layer bonded to a top support surface of the panel and top support surfaces of each of the members. A first living hinge allows the carpeted cover to pivot between different use positions and a second living hinge allows the members to easily pivot and fold one over the other in a compact, folded, open position of the cover.

Each of the plate members has a smooth non-compressible top rolling surface, bottom and four sides. The four sides define peripheral edges. Three of the peripheral edges have interlocking formations. Non-compressible ramp rails have an inclined leading portion and a trailing edge. The inclined portion establishes an upward inclined plane, and the trailing edge includes interlocking formations adapted for interfitting butting engagement of the trailing edge with the respective peripheral edges of the plate members so that the ramp rails are capable of providing ingress and egress to the load protecting aisle formed by the plate members.

Abstract: A skylight system including a support frame and an apex patch fitting that together support a plurality of glass pieces joined together in a selectable shape. The support frame includes a sill and a setting chair that are arranged to support the base portions of the glass pieces. The apex patch fitting may be of selectable shape and includes an upper and lower member to retain the peaks or corners of the glass therebetween. The apex patch fitting includes one or more positioning keys to align and secure the glass pieces. A method of making the skylights includes the use of an apex retainer tool to maintain the apex patch fitting in a fixed position while placing glass pieces on it. Multiple apex patch fittings can be used for a skylight, including a skylight that is ridge shaped or hipped ridge shape.

Abstract: A sandwich-type composite component having imprinted 3-D structures which provide at least one pattern at an outer surface of the component is provided. The component includes a first outer layer having an outer surface, a second outer layer and a core positioned between the outer layers and having a large number of cavities. The outer layers are bonded to the core by press molding. The first outer layer comprises an integral, unitary structure including 3-D structures imprinted by the press molding. The 3-D structures are sized, shaped and arranged in one or more patterns at the outer surface. The one or more patterns may form a textural surface finish, a logo or indicia such as instructions at the outer surface. The component may be a vehicle interior component such as a vehicle load floor component.

Abstract: Systems and methods for allowing a user to create a texture on a substrate while printing in line with inks are disclosed. An image of a desired texture may be provided, and the contrast levels may be adjusted to make the dark areas very dark and the light areas very light. The adjusted image of the texture may be provided to a press as one or more texture image layers. A color image layer may also be provided to the press. The press may print the texture image layers on the substrate first, allowing the ink to build up to create the texture. The final color image layer may then be printed on top of the texture image layers. The printed substrate may be folded to create a final image product, such as a gallery wrap for hanging on a wall.

Abstract: An apparatus comprising a composite elongate member, a channel, and a number of composite structures. The composite elongate member has a side configured for attachment to a surface of a structure. The channel is on the side and extends along a length of the composite elongate member. The number of composite structures is configured for placement in the channel and configured to attach a portion of the side of the composite elongate member to the structure. A composite structure in the number of composite structures comprises layers having different orientations selected to increase a capacity of the composite elongate member to withstand forces that pull the composite elongate member away from the structure.

Abstract: A replaceable wear liner pad assembly can be used to provide an array of tiles for lining a trough structure, the trough structure being made of a magnetically attractive material. The replaceable wear liner assembly includes magnetic members encapsulated within a resilient polymeric material, the polymeric material being transparent to magnetic fields. The polymeric material may have the general consistency of truck tire rubber. One side of the tile has a sheet or portion of a set gauge thickness such that in use the magnetic members are maintained at a set standoff distance from the underlying trough structure. The resilient material is far more flexible than the magnetic elements, such that the assembly can flex somewhat. The pad assembly is free of mechanical fasteners. Individual elements of the tile array may be replaced when worn, rather than the entire array.

Abstract: A blow molded assembly includes an attachment fastener portion integrated with a plastic component portion, and is formed by a blow molding process. The attachment fastener portion has a shaft and a base, where the base has at least one aperture and a bearing surface. The shaft extends from the bearing surface. The at least one aperture is configured to allow plastic for the plastic component portion to flow sufficiently through the base during the blow molding process such that the attachment fastener portion and the plastic component portion are integrated. The base of the attachment fastener portion may be substantially embedded within the plastic component portion. The shaft of the attachment fastener portion may be configured to receive a matable fastener such that the blow molded assembly may be attached to a structure. To accomplish this, the shaft may be threaded.

Abstract: A panel assembly including a compression-molded, composite panel is provided. The panel has first and second outer layers and a core positioned between the outer layers. The core has a large number of cavities. The outer layers are bonded to the core by press molding. The assembly also includes a component pivotally connected to the panel and a living hinge which allows the component to pivot about a pivot axis between different use positions relative to the panel. The assembly further includes a stiffening support having a support axis substantially parallel to the pivot axis. The support is bonded or joined to the panel to locally reinforce the panel adjacent the living hinge. The stiffening support eliminates the need for a metal hinge and provides for a light weight assembly with improved aesthetics and function.

Abstract: A sandwich-type, structural, composite panel having a pattern of depressions formed at a lower outer surface thereof and stiffening supports received and retained therein is provided. Crushed portions of the panel having a reduced thickness form the pattern of depressions at the second outer surface of the second outer layer. The stiffening supports are bonded or joined to the second outer layer within the pattern of depressions. The stiffening supports are sized, shaped and arranged within the pattern of depressions to provide the panel with strength to resist deflection from a load at various positions and orientations at the first outer surface.

Abstract: The present invention comprises a rotating device which comprises two pairs of disks. Each pair has a first disk in a first plane and a second disk in a second plane rigidly joined to the first disk. The second plane is perpendicular to the first plane and the first disk in each pair are detachably attached to one another and the second disk in each pair are detachably attached to one another so that each pair connectedly rotates with respect to each other. Their respective circumferential edges are in contact with one another.

The system may be a flooring system such as a vehicle flooring system and the assembly may be a floor panel assembly. The assembly includes at least one load-bearing component positioned between a lower outer layer of the cover and a bottom wall of the container in a closed position of the cover. Each component is bonded or joined to the outer layer and is in abutting engagement with the bottom wall in the closed position of the cover to transfer a load appearing at an outer surface of an upper outer layer of the cover to the bottom wall of the container. The system also includes a structure such as floor having a cavity for receiving the panel assembly.

The sliding button includes a button portion, a first sliding portion, and a fastening portion whereon an incline and a wedging slot are formed. The ornamental plate structure further includes an ornamental plate having a plate, a hooking component and a fixing component. The fixing component includes a wedging portion, a second sliding portion and an assembly surface. The wedging portion wedges inside the wedging slot after the assembly surface slides relative to the incline at a predetermined distance so as to fix the ornamental plate on the supporting base. The button portion is pushed to slide the first sliding portion relative to the second sliding portion so as to separate the wedging portion from the wedging slot. The ornamental plate structure further includes a resilient component for driving the sliding button.

Abstract: A cargo management system including a vehicle load floor having a vehicle component receiving feature is provided. The load floor compartmentalizes a cargo area into an upper compartment and a covered lower compartment. The system includes a first generally planar member having a first depression of a first predetermined depth and a compression-molded, composite, second generally planar member having a second depression of a second predetermined depth. A portion of the second member is locally crushed by press molding to form the second depression. Opposed surfaces of the first and second depressions cooperate to restrain movement of a vehicle component positioned in a cavity defined by the first and second depressions between the first and second members and prevent sudden transfer of vehicle component weight during vehicle acceleration and deceleration.

Abstract: Cargo management system including a vehicle load floor to compartmentalize a cargo area into an upper compartment and a covered lower compartment is provided. The system includes a composite plastic first outer layer having a substantially planar upper support surface to support cargo in the upper compartment. A composite plastic second outer layer has at least one cavity defined by lower surfaces of the second outer layer. Each cavity has a size and shape which corresponds in size and shape to a vehicle component to restrain movement of the vehicle component and to prevent sudden transfer of vehicle component weight during vehicle acceleration and deceleration. A core including adjacent core portions has different thicknesses. At least one of the core portions has a large number of cavities and each of the core portions is positioned between and bonded to the outer layers by press molding to form corresponding panel portions.

Abstract: A sandwich-type, structural, composite component including at least one hingedly connected portion which pivots with reduced or eliminated hinge binding and a cargo management system and vehicle load floor utilizing the component are provided. Elongated first and second interior portions of the component are locally crushed by the press molding to form a living hinge having a pivot axis and an elongated depression, respectively. The component includes an elongated cut-out which extends completely through the component at the elongated depression to obtain a clearance between a first portion of the component hingedly connected to a second portion of the component by the living hinge. The living hinge and the clearance allow pivotal movement of the first portion between different use positions relative to the second portion with reduced or eliminated hinge binding during the pivotal movement about the pivot axis.

Abstract: A sandwich-type, structural, composite component having a cut-out feature with a substantially hidden core, assembly utilizing same and panel for use in a vehicle load floor assembly are disclosed. The component includes a first outer layer, a second outer layer and a core positioned between the outer layers and having a large number of cavities. The outer layers are bonded to the core by press molding. An interior portion of the component enclosed by the rest of the component is locally crushed by the press molding to form at least one depression. A cut-out extends completely through the component at the interior portion of the component. Side surfaces of the at least one depression substantially hide the core at the cut-out without compromising the structural integrity of the component.

Abstract: Composite wear parts including encapsulated preformed ceramic shapes are disclosed. Preformed ceramic shapes are embedded in a metal alloy to protect the base metal from abrasion. The preformed ceramic shapes may have a uniform, preformed geometry that provides for packing the preformed ceramic shapes together in a uniform way. The preformed ceramic shapes may be positioned at a location in the composite wear part exposed to an abrasion without using a binding agent. The preformed ceramic shapes may also be contained in a porous container. A truss structure may be integrated in the preformed ceramic shapes to compartmentalize the preformed ceramic shapes into multiple isolated sub regions to stiffen the composite wear parts.

The plateau is inserted into the plateau-receiving aperture so that corresponding surfaces of the plateau and the plateau-receiving aperture are in abutting engagement to unitarily connect the components and form the assembly.

Abstract: Some embodiments include a cross member system comprising a central member, a cross member proximal coupling mechanism, and a cross member distal coupling mechanism. The cross member proximal coupling mechanism is configured to be coupled to a first structure comprising a first structure channel, and the cross member distal coupling mechanism is configured to be coupled to a second structure comprising a second structure channel. The cross member proximal coupling mechanism includes a first locking mechanism operatively configured to apply pressure to the first structure in order to couple the cross member proximal coupling mechanism to the first structure and to lock cross member proximal coupling mechanism in position when cross member proximal coupling mechanism is coupled to the first structure.
