Abstract: The present invention provides a negative electrode plate for alkaline storage cells of the sealed type which comprises an active material layer formed on each of opposite surfaces of an electrically conductive carrier sheet from a paste composed chiefly of a cadmium oxide powder, and an electrically conductive layer comprising a carbon powder and formed over the surface of the active material layer, which gives e.g., greatly improved ability to absorb oxygen gas.
Abstract: An electrolyte is disclosed which can be used in a variety of electrochemical cells and rechargeable accumulators. The electrolyte solution contains a complexing agent which reduces electrode solubility, combats dendrite formation, improves electrolyte conductivity and low temperature operation. The complexing agent additive described can be used with various electrolytes and existing cell types to advantage. Aspects of this invention are applicable to Ni-Cd, Ag-Cd, Ag-Zn, Ni-Fe, Ni-Zn, and like cells.
Abstract: Anode composition based on a mixture of plastic or elastomeric macromolecular material with ionic conduction, an alloy of lithium and particles of a carbon compound of the formula: Li.sub.x C where 0.ltoreq.x<0.3. Anodes so constituted, as well as electrochemical generators with solid electrolytes comprising these anodes. Better utilization of the lithium of the materials of the electrodes.
