Abstract: A spring clasp guide for providing an easier method of feeding a fishing line through a fishing guide comprising a substantially circular body and a spring clasp mechanism which, when actuated reveals a closeable gap in the circumference body portion of the guide. By revealing a gap in the body of the guide through which fishing line can be received, the spring clasp mechanism eliminates the need for a fisherman to feed line through the eyes of a plurality of guides sequentially and spend excessive time on preparing a fishing pole. On the contrary, a fisherman utilizing spring clasp guides on a fishing rod can simply actuate the spring clasp mechanism, insert the line through the closeable gap that is created, and release the spring clasp mechanism to cause the closeable gap to vanish and restore the integrity of the circumference body portion of the guide.

  • Patent number: 8850740
Abstract: A fishing rod has a rod blank, and a line guide group attached to the rod blank for guiding a fishing line delivered from a reel to a top guide. The, line guide group is classified into a choke guide group configured with three choke guides and a tip guide group configured with a plurality of tip guides having a decreased height and diameter than the choke guides. Heights and diameters of the choke guides are set to draw one virtual cone shape in which the diameters are made to be circumferences. The heights and diameters of the tip guides are set to be all the same. Since the line is converged rapidly and smoothly, the tip guide group can have a combination of light guides having small diameter, thereby the entire weight can be saved greatly, and original ability of a rod can be brought out.

Abstract: Disclosed is a side-loading line guide for a fishing pole. The side-loading line guide allows fishing line loaded through the side of the line-eye, and not just by threading the line through the center of the line guide-eye. The line guide has at least one foot for attaching the side-loading line guide to a fishing pole or to a pole tip. The line-eye of the guide is a split ring with the adjacent turns pressed substantially flat together. The line-eye is connected to the foot (or feet) of the guide by a mounting means such as is typical and known in the field.

  • Patent number: 8615919
Abstract: A rod and reel assembly for deep water fishing. The rod employs a structure that eliminates the need for line guides along the length of the structure by use of a swivel guide that maintains the line between two rod members. The swivel roller is placed at the distal end of the structure allowing fishing line deployed from a mounted reel to the swivel roller to pass unobstructed through the structure. Also disclosed is an electric reel that includes a cantilever spool having an enlarged interior allowing hand control of free spooling. A two stage drag system employs a first set of springs to allow hands free spooling with minimal drag and a second set of springs for proper setting for the fish hauling.
