The mount is composed of two legs, which are extended in the opposite directions from a lower portion of the guide ring such that one of the legs is extended inside the guide ring with the other extended outside the guide ring, to allow the legs to have the same width and to be set on a fishing rod in a balanced condition. Since the legs are extended from a lower portion of the guide ring, it is never caught by a fishing line while in use. The guide ring is reinforced at its inner circumferential surface with a ring of a synthetic resin having a hard inner ring fitted into the inner circumferential surface of the reinforcement ring. The reinforcement ring is firmly fitted into recesses provided in the inner circumferential surface of the guide ring.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 1981Date of Patent: January 31, 1984Assignee: Daiwa Seiko Inc.Inventor: Shigeru Yamamoto

Patent number: 4334379Abstract: A fish line guide assembly having a plastic mounting clip with a body portion and a long passage adapted to receive a slender tine of a removable wire loop member. The slender tine constitutes the base portion of the wire loop member, and has a non-circular or square cross section whereas the body portion of the clip has a passage of similar cross section, closely conforming to the tine. The loop member can be mounted on the clip or removed therefrom by inserting or withdrawing the tine from the passage of the mounting clip. The non-circular configuration of the tine and the closely-conforming passage of the body of the clip coact to maintain the loop member in upright position with respect to the fishing rod, and to prevent undesired lateral shifting of the loop member thereon.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 1981Date of Patent: June 15, 1982Inventor: Pierre Nelli

Patent number: 4223466Abstract: A fishing apparatus is disclosed which employs a hollow fishing rod into and through which is pumped air by means of a battery operated pump connected to the butt end of the hollow rod by means of a hose. The air is discharged from the rod through a perforated tube attached to the end of the rod. When the air passes through the perforated tube, bubbles will be created to aerate the water and attract the fish. The pump may be activated by means of a switch located on the fishing pole grip. The fisherman may place the pole under the water and activate the switch to force air through the perforated tube at the end of the pole to create a diversion to attract the fish. A fishing lure is attached to a single action reel by means of a fishing line.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 1979Date of Patent: September 23, 1980Inventor: Johnnie L. King
