Abstract: A fishing hook holder for retaining, storing, and rapidly dispensing a fishing hook is disclosed. The fishing hook holder comprises a base, a plurality of slats spaced apart from each other disposed on a first side of the base, a gap formed between adjacent slats of the plurality of slats, and a biasing element disposed proximate to the plurality of slats. A backstop is disposed proximate to the biasing element. The fishing hook holder comprises a cover positioned above the biasing element and in attachment with the first side of the base. The fishing hook holder further comprises a sharp edge for cutting an object. A portion of a fishing hook is sandwiched by at least one resilient element and an interior portion of a third side opening, and a barb on the fishing hook is received by a fourth side opening on a fourth side of the base.

Abstract: A fishing rod holder and retainer include a top plate that includes a main opening, and a retainer opening. A cylindrical tube extends downwardly at an angle away from the top plate. A rod retainer includes a retainer cable having a retainer clasp adjacent the retainer opening. A retainer channel is coupled to the top plate and aligned with the retainer opening and configured to extend downwardly to guide the retainer cable so that the cable extends down into the retainer channel. A biasing device is coupled to the retainer cable and configured to bias the retainer cable downwardly within the retainer channel.

Abstract: A vented, waterproof container is disclosed. The container may include a base and a cover. The cover may pivotably engage the base and pivot with respect to the base through a range of motion. The range of motion may include a closed position wherein the cover and base cooperate to form an enclosure. One or more apertures may pass through at least one of the base and the cover. At least one membrane may cover the one or more apertures. The at least one membrane may be permeable to water vapor and impermeable to liquid water. Accordingly, the at least one membrane may block liquid water from entering the container through the one or more apertures yet permit water vapor to escape the container through the one or more apertures.

Abstract: A method for forming a fishing-hook-retention system is disclosed. The method may include molding a sheet of silicone rubber to include at least one indentation. The at least one indentation may extend at least partially through a thickness of the sheet of silicone rubber. After the molding, at least one slit may be cut into the sheet of silicone rubber. The at least one slit may have one end terminating in the at least one indentation. Thereafter, the sheet of silicone rubber may be used to retain and storing one or more fishing hooks. This may be accomplished by placing at least a portion of a fishing hook within the at least one slit. The sheet silicone rubber may therefore grip the fishing hook and prevent it from falling out of the at least one slit.

Abstract: This includes a system to organizing a fly-box. It can hold a tandem rig with two or more fishhooks using a fishing line-winder to wind the tandem rig while the fishhooks remain attached. Then, it anchors the line-winder and fishhooks to the fly-box, thereby, allowing organization of tandem rigs within the fly-box.

Abstract: A holder for storing fish hooks and leaders with the leader in a non-tensioned mode generally comprises a body and a circumferential sleeve sliding on the body. The body includes a plurality of parallel, circumferential grooves including a narrow outer opening for free passage of the leader; and a wider inner portion for retaining the midsection of the leader. A hook and leader may reside in each groove by engaging the hook with the body and by wrapping the hook's leader around the web in the groove by passing the leader through the narrow outer opening so as to reside in the wider inner width of the groove. The sleeve is slidingly attached to said body so as to selectively uncover the grooves for storage or retrieval of a hook and leader.

The cylinder is configured to receive the fishing leader such that the fishing leader extends around the cylinder and is retained on the cylinder with the hold and the catch.

Abstract: An apparatus for carrying or transport fishing leaders, with the idea of protecting fishermen from injuries while handling or transporting fishing leaders and also avoid the hassle of tangled fishing leaders. The apparatus will enable the fisherman to have handy and readily available fishing leaders, saving precious time while fishing. The apparatus has several sections in its body so as to house leaders of different sizes. The apparatus is basically two PVC pipes partially sliding one within the other, with a spring in its interior so as to keep the leaders always stretched.

Abstract: A system for carrying and changing pre-rigged fish hooks comprising a fish hook carrying device including a flexible support structure having a hook retainer end and line retainer end. The hook retainer end includes a fish hook retainer and the line retainer end includes a plurality of sleeves. Each separate sleeve is for accepting a weight attached to the line of a different pre-rigged fish hook. Each separate weight provides a constant downward straightening force on the line to which it is attached when the carrying device is flexed by a fisherman. The system may further include pairs of indicia, one on the hook retainer and one on a corresponding sleeve, to aid a visually impaired fisherman to keep the line of each pre-rigged fish hook untangled along the support structure.

The inner holder portion includes a snell holder that extends downwardly and into the outer holder portion when the inner portion and the outer portion are attached to one another. Preferably, the outer holder portion is comprised of a material that allows the user to visualize the contents of the device. The snell holder provides a plurality of transversely-disposed and circumferentially-cut slots for retention of a snell within such slots.

An embodiment of the device provides for construction of the device from a material (or materials) sufficiently buoyant to float when holding multiple fishing lines and terminal tackle.

Abstract: The invention is a tackle container that incorporates interchangeable inserts. The inserts secure different kinds of fishing lures and baits. For example, the inserts hold segmented lures within notched upright posts. In this regard, the inserts may be suitably structured to hold spinner bait lures, buzz bait lures, or other fishing lures with segmented bodies. Moreover, the inserts are interchangeable to facilitate a wider variety of uses for the tackle container.

Abstract: A device for storing fish hooks which have lengths of leader attached in an orderly fashion. A thin, generally rectangular piece of plastic has two rows of posts, one extending axially outwardly in alignment with each lateral face. The two rows of posts are laterally offset from one another to facilitate attachment and removal of a loop in the distal end of the leader. A layer of elastomeric material coats at least ? of each face at the opposite end of the body. The hook which is tied to the proximate end of the leader is embedded in the elastomeric layer to maintain the fish hooks in an ordered array. A second embodiment includes an integral storage compartment for lead shot.

Abstract: The instant invention is a fishing rig storage device that maintains multiple hooks in a secure storage position until use. The storage device consists of a containment vessel that houses six individual storage boxes during shipping. Each storage box has a cavity housing a foam insert and a hinged top allowing individual sealing of the six boxes. The individual storage boxes are used to store the unused hook. In an alternative embodiment the containment vessel can also be used to hold the storage box and hook in instances of high rod movements. The containment vessel includes aperture that allows the containment vessel and storage housings to remove any pressure from the fishing line during storage.

Abstract: A storage unit for holding a sabiki fishing rig includes a hollow inner tube having an outer diameter, a first inner end and a second inner end. The hollow outer tube has an inner diameter at least as large as the outer diameter of the inner tube, a first outer end, and a second outer end. A flared funnel, having a first funnel end and a second funnel end, is connected to the first inner end at the second funnel end, the first funnel end defining scalloped notches and a receiving space tapering inward for receiving the sabiki rig. A bottom collar has a recessed cross-member for holding at least a part of the sabiki rig, the bottom collar being attached to the second outer end of the outer tube. A locking collar slidably connects the inner tube to the outer tube.

Abstract: A fishing leader holder which allows fishermen and fisherwomen to carry leaders of various lengths without the threat of the leaders becoming bent or being caught on other objects. The fishing leader holder (1) is comprised of a holder (1) and two ends (2) and (3) that receive fishing hooks (8). The holder (1), preferably made of PVC pipe, is hollow, cylindrically-shaped and has cut out windows (5) for the acceptance of leaders (9). The holder (1) has a first frayed end (2) and a second corked end (3). Optional holes (6), which also hold fishing hooks (8), may be included on the holder (1), as well as an optional cap (10) which would prevent the hooks (8) from falling out of the slots (4) on the frayed end (2). Because the leaders (9) are stored within the device rather than outside the device, the user need not be concerned with the leaders (9) becoming caught on external objects.

Abstract: A hanger for storing fishing leaders includes a flexible member movable from an equilibrium configuration to flexed condition. A plurality of support members are secured along the member to support one or more looped sections of fishing line and to engage the hook of a stored leader. A fishing leader may be stored by securing the first end of the leader to the flexible member, looping the fishing line around one or more support members and securing the fishing hook over one of the support members while the flexible member is manually held in a flexed condition. Movement of the flexible member back toward its equilibrium configuration when the flexible member is released tensions the fishing line so that the stored fishing leader is taut. The leader hanger can be releasably retained in a storage box that can be selectively configured by a user.

Abstract: A storage device for fishing lures comprising a rigid spool, having a hollow interior, and a hollow lure storage element extending across the hollow interior is described. The spool has an outer surface defining an annular channel comprising a floor and two side walls extending from said floor for receiving a leader line of a fishing lure. Each of the ends of the storage element intersect with the floor of the channel to define openings in the floor of the channel. In one embodiment, at least a portion of at least one of the openings is curved to reduce the possibility for “kinking” the leader line. At least one of said walls contains a plurality of slots that will receive the end of the leader line as will also be explained below. A small aperture located on the floor adjacent to at least one of the openings receives the lead hook of a fishing lure. A tab having a hole extends from the periphery of one of said walls to permit hanging of the device.

Abstract: The snell holder has a foundation structure on which a snell-receiving body is mounted. The foundation structure has a support shaft and an anchor solely at one end for mounting it to another object. The snell-receiving body is elongated and compressible and puncturable and at least modestly resilient. It has a central axis about which it is rotatable. The support shaft projects into one end of the snell-receiving body at the axis of the body. The opposite end of the body has an eccentric handle. Spaced catches on the body allow attachment of the non-hook end of a snell to the body so that, upon rotation of the body by the eccentric handle, the snell can be wound around the body and the hook then pressed into the body.

Abstract: A leader line, hook and lure storage device comprising a unitary and homogenous geometrically shaped elastomeric spooling structure having formed therein a plurality of perimeter recesses each having located therein a peg which is anchored to the unitary and homogenous geometrically shaped elastomeric structure without a requirement for additional peg support. The anchoring provides the primary support for the peg.

Abstract: A box for transporting fishing tackle. The tackle box may include a tackle box housing having a rigid outer shell enclosing a first internal cavity and with openings at a front and back end, which may be covered by adjustable closure panels that themselves have receptacles for fishing tackle. The tackle box housing may further include an inside wall, or multiple such walls, having a plurality of lure retaining holes disposed therethrough, each of the lure retaining holes defined by the inside wall having a substantially round wide portion and at least one substantially rectangular narrow portion extending from the wide portion. This wall may be integrated with the tackle box housing or may be provided in a separate insert, and may be formed from a transparent material if desired. Other containers, such as drawers, may also be provided in the tackle box housing or in the insert.
