  • Patent number: 10288282
Abstract: A method for commissioning a gas valve assembly for controlling fuel flow to a combustion appliance. An example method for commissioning the gas valve assembly may include initiating a commissioning mode in the controller of the gas valve assembly. Once in the commissioning mode, inputting a user defined initial air to fuel (A/F) ratio, activating the combustion appliance, setting a burner load of the combustion appliance to a set burner load, inputting a desired A/F ratio for the set burner load, running the combustion appliance at the burner load with the desired A/F ratio, and observing the operation of the combustion appliance. The method may further include saving the desired A/F ratio for the set burner load to the controller of the gas valve assembly and exiting the commissioning mode.

Abstract: A burner arrangement is disclosed with a conical swirler in the form of a double cone which is arranged concentric to a burner axis and which encloses a swirl chamber, and with a central fuel lance which lies in the burner axis and projects from the cone point of the swirler into the swirl chamber, wherein a first stage is provided for injecting premix fuel, in which the premix fuel is injected radially outwards into the swirl chamber through injection openings which are arranged on the fuel lance, and wherein a second stage is provided for injecting premix fuel, in which the premix fuel is injected into an air flow, which is guided in the double cone, through injection openings in the double cone. With such a burner arrangement, the gas pressure which is required in the first stage is reduced by the entire premix fuel being injected into the swirl chamber in the first stage through two oppositely-disposed injection openings with increased opening diameter.

Abstract: The invention relates to a fuel combustion method in which one jet of fuel and at least two jets of oxidant are injected. According to the invention, the first jet of oxidant, known as the primary oxidant jet, is injected such as to be in contact with the jet of fuel and to produce a first incomplete combustion, the gases produced by said first combustion comprising at least one part of the fuel, and the second jet of oxidant is injected at a distance from the jet of fuel such as to combust with the part of the fuel present in the gases produced by the first combustion. Moreover, the primary oxidant jet is divided into two primary jets, namely: a first primary oxidant jet, known as the central jet, which is injected at the centre of the jet of fuel; and a second primary oxidant jet, knows as the sheathing jet, which is injected coaxially around the fuel jet.
