  • Patent number: 9666438
Abstract: A semiconductor device and method of formation are provided. The semiconductor device comprises a metal plug in a first opening over a substrate. The metal plug has a contact bottom surface that is substantially convex. The substantially convex contact bottom surface has an increased contact area as compared to a contact bottom surface of a metal plug that is not substantially convex. The increased contact area decreases a resistance of the metal plug. The increased contact area requires a smaller deposition amount to form a metal plug seed layer of the metal plug than a semiconductor device with a smaller contact area. A smaller deposition amount reduces an overhang of the deposited metal plug seed layer material. A reduced overhang of the deposited metal plug seed layer material reduces pitting in a metal plug formed from the deposited metal plug seed layer material.

  • Patent number: 7168406
Abstract: An ignition spark enhancing system and devices which, in one aspect, establish the electrical path between a spark source (e.g. an ignition coil) and a spark plug, and in another aspect, between a power source (e.g. battery) and an ignition coil and, in a third aspect, between the ignition coil and the spark distributor of an internal combustion engine. The devices preferably include a coil of one or more turns or loops formed on and along a length of a small segment of hollow conductive tubing. A length of solid conductive wire is wound in tightly spaced fashion around a portion of the conductive tubing and is formed in intermittent segments which are preferably electrically coextensive with the conductive tubing. The tubing and the wire are preferably copper and also preferably form each entire spark plug and ignition coil wire. The device is also preferably coated with a non-conductive material to reduce any risk of electrical shock or short circuit.

  • Patent number: 6902413
Abstract: An electrical spring connection assembly electrically connects a conducting case, and a spark plug. The electrical spring connection assembly includes a base having a securing aperture for receiving the conducting case therein. The base fixedly secures the electrical spring connection assembly within the conducting case. The electrical spring connection assembly also includes a leaf spring portion that extends radially out from the base for receiving the spark plug therein. The leaf spring portion creates an engagement force the spark plug must overcome to be positioned within the electrical spring connection assembly. The electrical spring connection assembly also includes a beam spring portion extending out from the leaf spring portion. The beam spring portion creates a retention force to retain the spark plug within the electrical spring connection assembly. The retention force is greater than the engagement force.
