With Coupling Separator Patents (Class 439/152)
  • Patent number: 4735578
Abstract: This invention provides for a contacting apparatus for a chip card (302) using an interchangeable set (309) of contact elements. The set of contact elements is preferably designed for the insulation displacement technique. A card support means (308) is provided for receiving the card, which is moved between its operable positions in a manner of a push-button pen. The set of contact elements may include elements (367, 368) which form a switch (421).

  • Patent number: 4702537
Abstract: A quick-disconnect electrical connector coupling assembly has an electrical connector plug assembly which surrounds and mates with a receptacle shell. The electrical connector plug assembly may be quickly disconnected by the application of an external axially-directed force imparted by means of remote control through the use of a lanyard affixed to the assembly. The lanyard may be attached to a ring which surrounds the connector plug assembly. The electrical connector plug assembly comprises a first coupling ring surrounded by a second coupling ring. The first coupling ring has a plurality of apertured mountings which accommodate, in each mounting, the insertion of a floating land segment positioned atop a ramp spring segment. When the coupling is fully mated, the ramp spring segments protrude radially into the inner surface of the first coupling ring and abut a plurality of fixed bayonet pins to secure the mated connection.

  • Patent number: 4699594
Abstract: The invention concerns a plug-in and disconnect aid device for plug-in subassemblies of a mechanical arrangement which can be inserted in rack subassemblies, wherein a lever by means of an end piece is connected to a subassembly in such a fashion that the axis of rotation of lever is positioned vertically to the insertion plane in the end piece and wherein the lever is designed to release a lock element. In accordance with the invention, the lever is designed as a connecting member which by means of a guide is positioned in a guide of a first fixed-mounted arm of end piece; that parallel to the first arm; there is a second arm having a locking projection spring-mounted in such a fashion that its guide edge mates with guide piece; that the guide is designed such that a swivel action of lever is converted into a motion of the second arm parallel to the insertion plane; and that lever is designed with a keyway whose outer edges are designed as projections.

  • Patent number: 4694379
Abstract: A control panel supports and positions interchangeable subunit electronic devices and provides a neat and uniform outwardly facing surface. When subunit electronic devices are disconnected from the control panel, cover plates extend and conform to the uniform outwardly facing surface. Hinged support members "lock" in an over center position to rigidly support each cover plate. Electrical connectors protruding from each subunit electronic device "unlock" the hinged support members from the over center position when the subunit electronic device is urged toward the cover plate.

  • Patent number: 4688869
Abstract: An electrical energy distribution system is formed as a track having a multitude of parallel insulating strips and interspersed conductor bars with gaps between adjacent conductor bars to receive conductive blades of outlets or jumper cables for receiving power from the system as well as fixedly supporting a set of blades for power input to the system. As thus configured, the system is modular and may be assembled without the need of tools or specially trained electricians.

  • Patent number: 4684192
Abstract: A shielded breakaway connector assembly has mating polarized conductive shells and mating respective dielectric inserts mounted therein having mating terminals therein. A plug insert is mounted in its shell permitting limited axially normal movement in a selected direction against spring bias so that during mating said plug insert is cammed in that direction by a cam member secured to the receptacle insert's shell to achieve a tentative mating condition wherein the respective contact sections engage and electrically connect. Full mating is achieved when the plug insert is further pushed against the receptacle insert in order for a latch surface of the plug to latch behind a cooperating latch on the cam member which latches are adapted to be delatchable solely when limited tensile force pulls the plug insert away from the receptacle insert's shell to overcome the axially normal spring bias on the plug insert and the resistance to delatching of the latches.
