Having Circuit Interrupting Provision Effected By Mating Or Having "dead" Contact Activated After Mating Patents (Class 439/188)
  • Patent number: 7629544
Abstract: A mechanical shunt for use in a socket of a string of lights resides in an otherwise typical lamp of a string of lights. The present shunt is a coiled spring shunt inserted in part into a hole formed in one of the electrical terminals in the socket so that it is cantilevered toward the opposing electrical terminal. The bulb holder carries a projection or a “tooth” on its bottom corner that is interposed between the first, cantilevered end of the spring terminal and the first electrical terminal when the holder is inserted into the socket. When the bulb and holder are removed, the spring shunt resiliently returns to engagement with the first electrical terminal.

Abstract: A mechanical shunt for use in a socket of a string of lights resides in an otherwise typical lamp of a string of lights. The present shunt is a pair of cantilevered portions from the electrical terminals inside the socket of a lamp in a string of lights. The portions touch and conduct electrical current when no lamp holder is in the socket but are separated by a button on the bottom of the lamp holder when the lamp holder is not in the socket. The cantilevered portions are formed in such a way that they rub together when opening, closing or when the socket undergoes expansion and contraction with changing temperature in order to prevent the buildup of corrosion on the teeth on the end of the cantilevered portion that would preclude their ability to make good electrical contact when needed.

Abstract: An electronic device with switch module includes a first body and a second body which pivot together to be closed. The first body has a buckling member. The second body has a catching member, an actuating member, an ejecting member, and a through hole disposed correspondingly. When the first body is closed on the second body, the buckling member passes through the through hole, presses in the ejecting member, and is caught by the catching member, so as to maintain a closed state of the first and the second bodies. When the actuating member is actuated, the actuating member pushes the catching member to release the buckling member and the ejecting member pushes the buckling member out of the through hole, such that a gap is formed between the first and the second bodies.

  • Patent number: 7544097
Abstract: A card connector has: a connector housing which is formed therein so as to be enclosed on three sides by an opposed pair of first and second frames and a third frame that links the end portions of the first and second frames; and an open-close cover. The open-close cover has a sensing member that senses the installation status of the card, and a cover locking mechanism that latches onto either the first or the second frame and locks the open-close cover in the closed state. The rear of the open-close cover is rotatably pivoted on the first and second frames. The card's installation status is sensed by closing the open-close cover and positioning the sensing member at the rear end portion of the card; and the open-close cover is retracted, being thereby locked in the closed state via the cover locking mechanism.

Abstract: A card connector has: a connector housing 2 constituted of electrically insulating bodies in which is formed a bottomed card holding cavity that is open at the front and top and is enclosed on three sides by a pair of first and frames and by a third frame that links one pair of end portions of the first and second frames; contact terminals 5 and 6 deployed inside the connector housing's card holding cavity; and an open-close cover 3 that covers the openings of the connector housing's card holding cavity. The rear of the open-close cover is rotatably pivoted on the first and second frames. Thanks to such structure, the interior of the card holding cavity can be examined when a card is installed, so that a card connector is provided in which cards of differing size and thickness, etc., can be installed reliably and in a simple manner.

Abstract: An electric socket includes a base provided with two electrodes and conduction members beside the electrodes. Each of the conduction members is connected to a power source and keeps a predetermined distance away from the electrodes. An upper casing has two apertures corresponding to the electrodes respectively. A power control unit includes a control block beside the conduction members and a control shaft having an end connected to the control block and an opposite end extended out of the upper casing. Two shutter members are pivoted on the base to shut the aperture. When a plug is inserted into the electric socket of the present invention, prongs of the slug will move away the shutter first, and then press the control shaft to make the control block bending the conduction members toward the electrodes that makes the conduction members contacting the electrodes respectively.

Abstract: A coaxial switching jack with a pair of coaxial assemblies mounted within a housing having a pair of front openings. The coaxial assemblies each include a center conductor and a shell conductor. The center conductors are connected by a first spring and the shell conductors are connected by a second spring. Insertion of a coaxial cable connector within one of the front openings deflects the springs from the corresponding coaxial assembly and disconnects the center and shell conductors of the two assemblies. The jack may also be configured to provide an electrical connection between the center and shell conductors of the second coaxial assembly if a coaxial cable connector is inserted within the first coaxial assembly. The connection between the center and shell conductors of the second coaxial assembly may allow for selection of a desired electrical impedance.
