Abstract: The present invention provides a contact assembly with non-coplanarity arrangement which includes a plurality of contacts and a contact belt. The contacts are stamped integrally in a piece of sheet metal. Each contact forms a solder portion, a connected portion and a conductive portion. The solder portions are aligned side by side and join the terminal belt as a whole. Each of the connected portions is extended from a free end of the solder portion. The conductive portions are aligned an arc shape and define a connecting end in one end thereof for joining integrated with the connected portion. As assembling, the plurality of contacts are assembled in a light pen as whole by once manipulation action.

  • Patent number: 6827585
Abstract: An electrical connector (1) for connecting a land grid array (LGA) chip with a printed circuit board (PCB) includes a housing (10), and terminals (110) received in passageways (101) of the housing. The housing has a base (100) and sidewalls (102, 104), the base and the sidewalls cooperatively defining a space therebetween for retaining the LGA chip. Two sidewalls each define recesses (1021), thereby forming projections (1020). When terminals are installed near the projections, a carrier strip (11) connecting the terminals is bent so that connecting sections (111) of the carrier strip are received in corresponding recesses. The connecting sections are cut off, and the carrier strip is removed. The recesses enable the carrier strip to be manipulated so that sufficient space is made available for cutting off of the connecting sections without interfering with the sidewall. The projections provide precise fitting positioning of the LGA chip in the space.

To make a plurality of metallic wires that are rolled in advance by a wire rolling tool into straight lines and to crimp the metallic wires. The metallic wires are penetrated through a round-profiled cutting machine to insert into a housing. To adjust a location of the housing and to regulate a predetermined length of each of the metallic wires. The metallic wires are cut by the round-profiled cutting machine according to the respective predetermined length as a plurality of terminals. The housing that accommodates with the terminals is ejected finally. The opposing distal end portion of the terminal is formed into a contoured profile to provide improved solderability thereby.

Abstract: In a mold for pressing an electric-wire clamping portion of a terminal, a lower side-wall mold part and an upper side-wall mold part are provided for pressing side walls connected to the electric-wire clamping portion. A pressure face substantially continuously connected to a pressure face of an upper conductor mold part is provided on one end side of the upper side-wall mold part. A taper face is provided on the other end side of the upper side-wall mold part so as to be enlarged toward the other end. Accordingly, side walls pressed between the lower side-wall mold part and the upper side-wall mold part are deformed so that the quantity of deformation at one end is near the quantity of compressive deformation of the electric-wire clamping portion and so that the quantity of deformation is reduced gradually toward the other end side. Thus, local stress concentration is not caused in the side walls so that cracks are prevented from occurring in the side walls.
