Each contact includes a base portion detachably connected to the carrier and a flexible arm slantingly extending from the base portion in a direction substantially the same as the bending direction of the receiving arm. The additional room provided by the arrangement of the instant disclosure enables the connector to adapt longer flexible arms, thereby enhancing the overall electrical connectivity of the connector and reduce assembly complexity. With the simplified shape of the contact in a completed connector, dimensional accuracy can be easily maintained.

Abstract: A contact strip comprises a plurality of contacts, and a connecting carrier having a plurality of connecting portions connecting with the contacts. The contact has a main body, a linking portion extending upwardly from the main body and a mounting portion downwardly bent from the main body. A pair of pre-break recesses are symmetrically defined on a front and a rear surfaces of the connecting portion, the recess laterally extends through the whole connecting portion and substantially has a gradual deeper depth. Operator can quickly and conveniently tear the recesses from the deep side of the recess to the shallow side of the recess to remove the connecting carrier from the contacts.

Abstract: A method (10) of forming an electrically conducting feedthrough. The method (10) comprises a first step (11) of forming an electrically conductive structure (21) comprising a sacrificial component and a non-sacrificial component. At least a portion of the non-sacrificial component can then be coated with a relatively electrically insulating material (35) prior to removal of at least a portion of the sacrificial component from the electrically conductive structure. The structure of the feedthrough provides electrical connection through the wall of a housing of an implantable component while preventing unwanted transfer of materials between the interior of the component and the surrounding environment.
