Abstract: The present invention is directed to a fuel additive comprising at least one adduct of (A) a polyolefin of 300 to 10,000 number average molecular weight substituted with at least 0.3 (e.g., from about 1 to 4) mono- or dicarboxylic acid producing moieties (preferably acid or anhydride moieties) per polyolefin molecule, (B) an amido-amine or thioamido-amine characterized by being a reaction product of at least a polyamine and an alpha, beta-unsaturated compound of the formula: ##STR1## wherein X is sulfur or oxygen, Y is --OR.sup.4, --SR.sup.4, or --NR.sup.4 (R.sup.5), and R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are the same or different and are hydrogen or substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbyl.
Abstract: Additive reaction products of (1) hydrocarbyl diols, and (2) the product of benzophenone tetracarboxylic dianhydride and hydrocarbyl aminoalcohols and/or amines improve the low-temperature properties of distillate fuels when added thereto.

Abstract: A motor fuel composition which inhibits engine ORI and resists engine deposit formation comprises a mixture of hydrocarbons boiling in the range of 90.degree. F.-450.degree. F. and the reaction product of a dibasic acid anhydride, a polyoxyalkylene polyol, and a nitrogen-containing compound selected from the group consisting of: (i) a C.sub.2 -C.sub.8 polyalkylene polyamine, (ii) a polyoxyalkylene diamine, and (iii) a heterocyclic azole.
Abstract: Formulations of additives for engine fuels comprising at least one constituent (A) and one constituent (B) resulting from the reaction of at least one alkenyl or polyalkenyl-succinic derivative with at least one polyamine to form constituent (A) and with at least one 1-(2-hydroethyl) imidazoline substituted in the 2-position by a linear or branched alkyl or alkenyl radical with 1 to 25 atoms of carbon to form constituent (B). The preferred formulations also contain a constituent (C) consisting of at least one polyglycol soluble in said fuel, with an average molecular mass ranging from 480 to 2,100. The (A)/(B) and (A)+(B)/(C) molar ratios preferably are respectively 0.2/1 to 5/1 and 0.05/1 and 20/1.

Abstract: A composition for the improvement of hydrocarbon fuel as exhibiting a boiling range of gasoline. The composition comprises an amine, a polyaminated detergent, a phenylamine diamine inhibited aromatic monomer stabilized by a polymeric substrate, a catalyst, a solvent, a promotor, alternative promoter and co-promoter. When used collectively, the recited composition has been found to significantly increase the octane of such hydrocarbon fuels while enhancing their anti-knock, anti-icing, anti-oxidency, anti-corrosion, detergency, and combustion properties and providing a lubrication quality to spark ignition-type engines used to burn the hydrocarbon fuels.
Abstract: A motor fuel composition which inhibits engine ORI and intake valve deposit formation and sticking comprises a mixture of hydrocarbons boiling in the range of 90.degree. F.-450.degree. F. and (I) the reaction product of a hydrocarbyl-substituted dibasic acid anhydride and a polyoxyalkylene diamine; (II) a polymeric component which is a polyolefin polymer, copolymer, or the corresponding aminated or hydrogenated polymer or copolymer, or mixtures thereof, of a C.sub.2 -C.sub.10 hydrocarbon; (III) a polyalkylene glycol having a molecular weight in the range of 500-2000; and (IV) a lubricating oil composition.
