Abstract: A rust preventive oil composition comprising a nonionic surfactant with a hydrophilic-lipophilic index of 10-12 at 0.1-10% by mass based on the total amount of the composition, and at least one rust-preventing additive selected from among sarcosine compounds, sulfonic acid salts, esters, amines, carboxylic acids, fatty acid amine salts, carboxylic acid salts, paraffin waxes, oxidized wax salts, alkyl or alkenylsuccinic acid derivatives and boron compounds, the composition having a 40° C. kinematic viscosity of 1-50 mm2/s.
Abstract: The present invention relates to functional fluid compositions containing antioxidants, and specifically stable compositions containing antioxidants with limited solubility in and/or limited compatibility with the functional fluids with which they are used. In particular the present invention deals with functional fluids used in internal combustion engines, such as engine oils, and antioxidants containing a phenolic or benzoic group, where the antioxidant is present in the functional fluid composition at levels that would otherwise cause the composition to be unstable and/or hazy.

Abstract: A diesel fuel composition containing metallic additives that are stabilized against phase separation. The diesel fuel contains a colloidally dispersed or solubilized metal catalyst compound, which can be used for diesel particulate trap regeneration and, as a stabilizer, 5-1,000 ppm (weight) of an oil-soluble or oil-dispersible organic compound having a lipophilic hydrocarbyl chain having attached directly thereto at least two contiguous polar head functional groups, i.e., the functional groups are separated by no more than three carbon atoms. The diesel fuel composition is particularly suitable for use with diesel engines fitted with a particulate trap for emissions control.
Abstract: The invention concerns a multifunctional additive enabling fuels to be operable in cold conditions, consisting of copolymers of at least a dicarboxylic compound with at least an olefin, and whereon are grafted nitrogenous functions and/or esters of general formula (1) wherein: R1 and R2, and R4 and R5, R3 and R6 are hydrogen or alkyl radicals, and x is selected among the amine salts and N-alkylpolyalkylenepolyamines and their monohydroxylated and polyhydroxylated derivatives, N-alkylpolyalkylenepolyamine alkylesters and esters, and alkylamines and N-alkylpolyalkylenepolyamines.

Abstract: Coal-water slurries containing a rheological additive are provided. Rheological additives employed for preparation of the coal-water slurries are ester-amide products obtained by reaction of a polycarboxylic acid with a polyether glycol and aliphatic amine. Salts of the ester-amides may also be advantageously employed as dispersants. The ester-amide additives are employed in an amount from about 0.1 to about 4 percent by weight of the slurry. Stable aqueous slurries containing from 60 to 80 percent by weight coal solids are produced.
Abstract: A composition for the improvement of hydrocarbon fuel as exhibiting a boiling range of gasoline. The composition comprises an amine, a polyaminated detergent, a phenylamine diamine inhibited aromatic monomer stabilized by a polymeric substrate, a catalyst, a solvent, a promotor, alternative promoter and co-promoter. When used collectively, the recited composition has been found to significantly increase the octane of such hydrocarbon fuels while enhancing their anti-knock, anti-icing, anti-oxidency, anti-corrosion, detergency, and combustion properties and providing a lubrication quality to spark ignition-type engines used to burn the hydrocarbon fuels.
