Abstract: The present invention is directed to compositions prepared by reacting (a) an oil soluble polyalkylene polyamine containing at least one polyalkylene polymer chain having at least one double bond and which chain is attached to a nitrogen and/or carbon atom of the alkylene radical(s) connecting the amino nitrogen atoms with said alkaline polyamine having a molecular weight of the range of from about 600 to about 10,000 and (b) furan under Diels-Alder reaction conditions. The invention also relates to the use of the subject compositions as additives in an unleaded fuel gasoline compositions to reduce intake valve deposits in electronic port fuel injected engines.
Abstract: A fuel oil composition comprises fuel oil and 0.1 to 50,000 ppm of an additive compound having the formula (I) in which R is a hydrocarbyl radical having 10 to 50 carbon atoms, A is an alkylene group having 2 to 6 carbon atoms, m is an integer of 10 to 50 and n is an integer of 1 to 3. It is improved in cleaning property.
Abstract: Hydrogen sulfide gas evolution from water or hydrocarbons, especially during storage or transport of petroleum residua is suppressed by the incorporation of an effective amount of a diamine of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, and R.sub.4 are independently an alky radical containing 1 to 14 carbon atoms, (CH.sub.2).sub.n --OR.sub.6 or cycloalkyl containing 5 or 6 carbon atoms and R.sub.5 is hydrogen or methyl. R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 can be alkylene groups joined together with their respective adjacent N to form a heterocyclic ring. R.sub.6 is hydrogen or an alkyl radical having 1 to 5 carbon atoms and n is an integer of 1 to 5.
Abstract: A novel oil-soluble polyether diamine compound, a concentrate comprising the compound dissolved in a hydrocarbon solvent, and a haze-free, deposit-resistant and ORI-inhibited motor fuel composition comprising the compound is described. Motor fuel compositions comprising the novel polyether diamine compound of the instant invention are haze-free and improve ORI control and carbonaceous deposit inhibition in motor fuels. Motor fuel compositions of the instant invention may optionally comprise a polyolefin polymer/copolymer component having a molecular weight range of about 500-3500.
Abstract: Long chain aliphatic hydrocarbyl amine additives which comprise a long chain aliphatic hydrocarbyl component, an amine component and an oxy-alkylene hydroxy connecting group connecting the aliphatic hydrocarbyl component and amine component are useful as deposit control additives in fuel compositions and as dispersants in lubricating oil compositions.
