Patent number: 7109134Abstract: A fusible quilt batt. The fusible batt includes a non-woven fibrous web and a heat sealable and releasable adhesive. The adhesive is coated on the outer surface of the web and insinuates between the fibers of the web internally. The adhesive thus binds the fibers of the web and provides a tackiness sufficient to allow the web to be applied to a backing material at an elevated temperature and removed from the backing at room temperature or an elevated temperature. After removal of the web from the backing material it may be reapplied to a backing material at an elevated temperature. The attachment, removal and reattachment process is repeatable.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 2003Date of Patent: September 19, 2006Assignee: L&P Property Management CompanyInventor: Robert J. South

Patent number: 7074729Abstract: A composite sheet includes a fabric that is at least partially embedded in a polymeric sheet. The fabric includes longitudinally extending warp yarns and laterally extending weft yarns, with there being one or more pairs of substantially spaced apart, yet adjacent, warp yarns. For each pair, the two warp yarns are sufficiently spaced apart from one another so that the composite sheet can be longitudinally slit between and distant from the two warp yarns, to provide one or more sections of the composite sheet that can be used as conveyor belts. The warp yarns are not exposed at the cut edges.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 2004Date of Patent: July 11, 2006Assignee: Siegling America, LLCInventors: Jay Philip Leighton, Natalie B. Deal

Patent number: 7056847Abstract: The present invention is directed to a fibrous substrate made of chemically bonded fibers, where the fibers are bound with a polymeric binder in an amount which is sufficient to bind the fibers together to form a self-sustaining web, and where the binder is characterized as having a wet tensile strength of greater than 4500 grams per inch (g/in) when measured at a 20 percent add-on on Whatman #4 CHR chromatography paper which is drum dried for 90 seconds at 210 to 215° F. and cured for 2 minutes at 300 to 325° F. Preferably the level of free formaldehyde in the fibrous substrate is less than 15 ppm. The emulsion binders of the invention may be used to bind fibers together in a substrate; may be used to bind pigment, colors or other substances to a substrate; may be used as a backing material; or may be used to finish or surface-treat a substrate.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2002Date of Patent: June 6, 2006Assignee: Celanese International CorporationInventors: James L. Patent number: 7049252Abstract: An abrasion resistant and water resistant fabric is disclosed. The fabric is particularly well suited for use in constructing luggage. The fabric, however, is also well suited for many other applications, such as use in constructing sportswear, outdoor apparel, military apparel, and the like. The fabric is treated with a chemical composition. It has been discovered that the chemical composition greatly enhances the abrasion resistance of the fabric. In one embodiment, the fabric is made from nylon multifilament yarns.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 2004Date of Patent: May 23, 2006Assignee: Safety Components Fabric Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Joey K. Patent number: 7018945Abstract: A treatment composition and a method for treating substrates that includes contacting at least a portion of the substrate with (a) an alkyl polyglycoside or a derivative of an alkyl polyglycoside; and (b) a polysaccharide, a modified polysaccharide, a derivative of a polysaccharide or a derivative of a modified polysaccharide is provided. A treated substrate is provided that when used in a personal care product like a diaper and in such a way that the substrate is not in direct contact with skin promotes skin dryness.Type: GrantFiled: July 2, 2002Date of Patent: March 28, 2006Assignee: Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc.Inventors: Ali Yahiaoui, Susan Carol Paul, Andrea Susan Wulz
