    Abstract: The present invention provides a reinforced tape including a visually transparent backing layer, a reinforcing scrim preferably of fibers made of visually transparent material along one surface of the backing, and a layer of transparent adhesive covering but not totally wetting the reinforcing scrim so that the scrim is visible along the backing layer before the tape is applied to give a user a visual indication of the strength of the tape. The indexes of refraction of the material of the fibers in the scrim and of the adhesive are similar so that when the layer of adhesive is pressed against a substrate through the backing layer, the adhesive will more totally wet the fibers of the reinforcing scrim, causing them to become significantly less visible in the reinforced tape adhered to the substrate.

    Abstract: A composite fabric for use in reinforcement, particularly tensile reinforcement, of cementitious boards and similar prefabricated building wall panels. The fabric is constructed as a mesh of continuously coated, high modulus of elasticity strands. The high modulus strands are preferably bundled glass fibers encapsulated by alkali and water resistant thermoplastic material. The composite fabric also has suitable physical characteristics for embedment within the cement matrix of the panels or boards closely adjacent the opposed faces thereof. The fabric provides long-lasting, high strength tensile reinforcement of the panels or boards regardless of their spatial orientation during handling. The reinforcement also enhances the impact resistance of the boards after installation. Included as part of the invention are methods for making the reinforcement, cementitious boards and panels including the reinforcement, and methods for manufacturing such boards and panels.

The coating composition comprises from about 15% to about 50% by weight liquid carrier and from about 35% to about 90% by dry solids weight filler particles. The coating composition preserves the acoustic performance characteristics of the substrate to which it is applied, while imparting a textured appearance to the substrate, making the substrate virtually indistinguishable from surrounding panels.

An application of heat and pressure results in the formation of the reinforced material. After that, they are placed in a mold cavity together with the test pieces with a pulverized resin, and applying pressure and heat to the mold cavity for a predetermined period of time, whereupon the test body is ready to be taken out and lapped.

The membrance includes an outer layer of polymeric layer such as EPDM bonded to a polyester protective layer which is in turn bonded to a fleecy material. This can be adhered to a roof deck surface using hot asphalt or bitumen which bonds the fleecy material to the roof deck in turn holding the EPDM in place. The polyester layer prevents the asphaltic material from attacking and dissolving the EPDM with the fleecy material providing good adhesion between the polyester and the EPDM.

    Abstract: This invention relates to splice and dead end fittings and methods for splicing together two aluminum conductor composite core reinforced cable (ACCC) or terminating one composite core reinforced cable. The compression fitting uses a compressible body inside a rigid enclosure to hold the composite cores. First, the composite cores can be stripped of the aluminum conductor to provide the best bond between the compressible body and the composite core, the load-bearing member of the cable. After inserting the composite core into the compressible body, a compression implement may be used to compress the compressible body. Without the ability to expand because the rigid enclosure forces the compressible body to maintain its shape, the compressible body places compressive forces on the composite core. The compressible body holds the composite core with frictional or mechanical forces.
