Sounding Patents (Class 446/397)
  • Patent number: 6899585
Abstract: An amusement device that includes a mounting assembly that is selectively attachable to a person's body. An electronic assembly is either built into, or attached to, the mounting assembly. The electronic assembly includes a sensor that detects movement. Also included in the electronic assembly is a sound generating device that generates one note of a melody each time the sensor detects movement. By manipulating the mounting assembly on the body, a user can repeatedly trigger the sensor and cause sound generating assembly to produce notes.

  • Patent number: 6881121
Abstract: The invention provides a noise-maker having an injection molded single piece body, a membrane and a retaining ring. The injection molded single piece body includes a generally cylindrical central tube and a generally cylindrical pressure tube which defines a pressure chamber. The retaining ring has an inner diameter adapted to fit over the outer surface of said pressure tube such that the membrane is secured to and stretched across the central tube first end and the pressure tube first end. Sound is created when air or other gas is forced into pressure chamber. The air must pass through the pressure chamber around a central tube first end and out the discharge end of a sound extension end. By forcing air into the pressure chamber, membrane vibrates producing a loud sound.

  • Patent number: 6837177
Abstract: A whistle (1) has: a mouthpiece which includes an air inlet (4); a first and a second resonance chambers (5a, 5b) to which air is injected through the air inlet via a first and a second air passages (6a, 6b); a first and a second sound outlets (7a, 7b) in the form of openings formed between the air passages and the resonance chambers; and a first and a second air flow converters (9a, 9b) for varying the flow of air between the air passages and the sound outlets. The air flow converters (9a, 9b) are each part of the sound outlets, and have walls (10a, 10b) which are perpendicular to the air passages (6a, 6b). The air flow converters (9a, 9b) create extra higher harmonics, increase sound pressures in the resonance chambers, and shorten rising time of the whistle, so that the whistle quickly produces loud harmonious beats, which is effective to call attention of people.

  • Patent number: 6786731
Abstract: Automatically determining which one of a plurality of functions is to be associated with a movable member of an electronic device, depending on which one of a plurality of faceplates is coupled to the electronic device. A selected faceplate is coupled to a keyboard or other electronic device with movable members such as keys, buttons, knobs, etc. Protrusions or other configuration characteristics of the faceplate interface with one or more faceplate sensors, such as switches, that detect which faceplate is coupled to the electronic device. Based on the state of the faceplate sensors, the electronic device selects a predefined code, such as a scan code, that represents the coupled faceplate. The selected predefined code is communicated to a host computing device according to a keyboard protocol such as PS/2 or universal serial bus (USB). Consequently, an individual function is associated with each movable member based on the coupled faceplate.

Abstract: A remotely operable game call utilizes an air tube for remote operation. The invention is applicable to any type of blow-through or inhale call, including grunt tubes for deer, predator calls, screech calls, doe bleats, and other types of exhale units. An air reservoir provides a number of desirable functions, including the containment of a pressurized volume of air to sufficient to operate the call to produce the sound for which it was intended by blowing on directly by a user. In addition, the use of a reservoir having an inlet and an outlet, allows the outlet to be designed with a substantial universal fitting, enabling different kinds of calls to be attached to the reservoir in an interchangeable manner. As an option, the reservoir and call may be contained in a breathable, preferably camouflaged bag to visibly obscure the apparatus in the field. If desired, the bag may be of a drawstring variety, enabling the entire assembly, including the air tube, to be contained therein during periods of non-use.

Abstract: A game call friction material is disclosed. Airfloated clay powder is heated to a temperature of greater than approximately 1112° F. to form a calcined clay powder that is then mixed with water and a carrier such as plaster and set to form a solid mass. The volume ratio of plaster to calcined clay in the solid mass is approximately 150:1. The solid mass preferably has a cavity with a second mass of calcined clay and plaster disposed therein. The volume ratio of calcined clay to plaster in the second mass is approximately 3:1. The solid mass is rubbed against a friction game call, depositing calcined clay particles and plaster particles thereon. The calcined clay particles form friction layers on the relevant surfaces of the friction game calls. The plaster helps to dry the friction game call surfaces and to form the friction layers on the friction game call surfaces.

  • Patent number: 6561311
Abstract: An improved structure of speaker cabinet comprising a housing opened on one side thereof, and comprising a front panel, wherein, a plurality of intermediate speakers can be held firm and get increased connecting strength when the front panel is integrally connected with the housing to thereby offset the frontward and rearward thrusts of the speakers. Moreover, a plurality of hollow posts located at the positions in correspondence with those of the connecting areas of the speakers to the cabinet can be filled therein with vibration absorbing material in order to reduce vibration at the earliest time. Such a design not only can reduce volume and weight of the cabinet, but also can improve sound quality and provide a hidden port to improve beauty and waterproofing effect of the cabinet.

  • Patent number: 6544099
Abstract: A system, apparatus and article of manufacture which comprises a portable, sensor-activated, suspendable electronic device which produces human speech when stimulated. The device may be used in conjunction with punching bags or may also be worn about the belt of the user. The device is programmed with plural sounds and phrases which are played through an on-board speaker. It is equipped with facility for recording sounds and phrases. Sounds are toggled to be played by built-in sensors which may be sensitive to vibration, touch, light or other means. Sounds and phrases may be related to specific activity modes in which the user employs the apparatus. All sounds can be played, either serially or randomly through the self-contained speaker. Sounds, which may be motivational in nature, can be related to a specific user function, such as jogging, working out, boxing, punching a punching bag or other desired activity.

  • Patent number: 6524159
Abstract: An object that includes a sound chip coupled to a receiving and audio (R/A) device. The sound chip may preferably be either static or dynamic in regards to its recording capabilities in the field, i.e., outside the manufacturing environment. Through this coupling data stored on the sound chip is played back through an audio system in the R/A device. This stored data is correlated to a type of the object, e.g., a person, a color, a shape, a machine, an animal, a planet, a trading card, etc. Optionally, the R/A device can be coupled to a computer, and the stored data in the object can control the computer such that the type of object initiates playback through the computer of either data stored in the computer or related data on the Internet or Intranet. Also, an alternative R/A device has a rotating section so that the object can be seen by more people in an area. Further, the object can have LED circuits to illuminate predetermined parts and motors to move predetermined parts.
