  • Patent number: 9511473
Abstract: A grinding fixture assembly for use in grinding an end surface of a hose includes a housing, a bearing assembly disposed in the housing, and an insert assembly. The bearing assembly defines a central bore. The insert assembly is disposed in the central bore of the bearing assembly. The insert assembly includes an insert housing, an adapter and a bearing. The insert housing defines a thru-hole that extends through the insert housing. The thru-hole is disposed at an oblique angle in the insert housing. The adapter is disposed in the thru-hole of the insert housing. The adapter defines a bore that is adapted to receive an end portion of a hose. The bearing is disposed between the insert housing and the adapter. The bearing allows for rotation of the insert housing while the adapter is maintained rotationally stationary.

  • Patent number: 7413503
Abstract: An elastic polishing tool that comes into contact with a surface to be polished of a lens and rotates to polish the surface, includes: an elastic polishing body which has a cylindrical shape and whose shape can be changed according to the surface to be polished; and a polishing pad that is adhered to one surface of the elastic polishing body opposite to the surface to be polished of the lens, wherein the polishing pad has a diameter larger than the length of an arc of the elastic polishing body in a cross section including a rotation axis of the elastic polishing tool.

  • Patent number: 6786806
Abstract: A mower blade sharpener apparatus has an automatic reciprocating holder means to sharpen lawn mower blades conveniently with any stationary circular flat-faced grindstone with its driving motor affixed to a common base. A housing frame having open opposing sides contains a blade holder with upper and lower securing clamps and a V-shaped cradle. The housing frame is attached by a screw to a carriage automatically moved back and forth a limited distance on a pair of parallel rods to sharpen the lawn mower blade. The housing frame and carriage are driven by a pneumatic system designed with a reciprocating movement of approximately 4 inches in a cycle duration of approximately a second. An on/off pneumatic valve switch automatically shuts off the pneumatic pressure when a semicylindrical shield which covers the blade portion not being sharpened is rotated back away from the blade.

  • Patent number: 6736703
Abstract: A cutting blade is fixed on a shaft that rotates about its shaft center, and that is linearly advanced by an advancing movement. The shaft's center further revolves with a small radius of revolution at a rapid predetermined rate of revolution greater than the rate of advancing movement. Thus the blade is pressed against and cuts a substrate and produces chips, and the blade is intermittently disengaged from the substrate whereby the chips move in the direction in which the blade rotates to be removed from between the cutting edge of the blade and the substrate. This reduces working resistance, enhances working efficiency, and prevents the blade surface from having significant frictional heat. Furthermore, the generated frictional heat can readily dissipate and the blade can thus have a long life.

  • Publication number: 20020013124
Abstract: A polishing apparatus is used for polishing a workpiece such as a semiconductor wafer to a flat mirror finish, and allows a polishing pad to be automatically replaced without stopping rotary or circulatory motion of a polishing table. The polishing apparatus comprises a polishing table for making rotary or circulatory motion, a top ring vertically movably disposed above the polishing table for removably holding a workpiece to be polished, a pair of rolls rotatable about their own axes and movable in unison with the polishing table and a polishing pad which is wound on one of the rolls and supplied over an upper surface of the polishing table toward the other of the rolls.

  • Patent number: 5895311
Abstract: An abrasive apparatus adopted to abrade a curved surface of workpiece includes: an abrading head including an abrading tip having a substantially spherical outer surface and a rotating shaft supporting the abrading tip, the abrading head being positioned to face the curved surface; a thrust moving mechanism for relatively moving the abrading head and the curved surface; a lateral moving mechanism for relatively moving the abrading head and the curved surface; a pivotal moving mechanism for relatively moving the abrading head and the curved surface pivotally around a center point; and a controller for controlling the abrading head, the thrust moving mechanism, the lateral moving mechanism and the pivotal moving mechanism synchronously so that the abrading tip contacts and presses the curved surface at any point thereon with a substantially constant pressure in a direction consistent with a normal line thereat.
