Abstract: An apparatus to clean gold plated contact surfaces on printed circuit boards uses a printed circuit board guide and cleaning units in contact with the printed circuit board guide. A guide rail on the printed circuit board guide is adapted to guide the printed circuit board having contaminated gold plated contact surfaces. The cleaning units include grindstones to abrade the gold plated contact surfaces and rub off the contaminants. Embodiments are capable of achieving cleaning uniformity, reducing failure rate, and enhancing the quality of the products. The effectiveness of the invention permits operators to carry out other operations during the cleaning process. Practice of the present invention also provides improved operating conditions without problems such as those due to the presence of waste eraser particles.

Abstract: A golf club grinder including a base frame, a first grinding mechanism and a second grinding mechanism respectively mounted on the base frame for grinding the hosel and the shaft respectively, the first grinding mechanism including an abrasive belt mounted on a wheel and a roller and driven by a motor to grind the hosel of a golf club, the second grinding mechanism including a forwardly tilted motor mounted on a motor carrier and moved relative to the abrasive belt, and a grinding wheel turned by the forwardly tilted motor to grind a shaft for golf club put in between the abrasive belt and the grinding wheel.
Abstract: A lapping apparatus for improving the durability of a lap film and the reliability of a lapping apparatus. A shoe having a recessed workpiece retaining section is installed on each of the opposed faces of a pair of clamp arms. A deep groove is formed in the center of the workpiece retaining section. Guide plates are fixed to the shoe so as to block both sides of the deep groove. A drawing roller is disposed in the deep groove and the rotation shaft of the drawing roller is supported by the guide plates. A lap film is introduced to the workpiece retaining sections of the shoes, drawn into the deep grooves in the center of the workpiece retaining sections, and hung around the drawing rollers. Even when the lap film is being fed, the lap film feeding path remains unchanged. Thus, there is no need to clamp the workpiece with a high pressure to bring the lap film into close contact with the face of the workpiece to be processed.
Abstract: A marking apparatus for forming scratch marks on a painted surface, at positions in which paint defects are detected, includes a rotary brush assembly having a number of strings, each of which contains approximately 25 weight percent of abrasive grains, stuck in and secured to a rotary body so as to form a circular brush head. A pressing device presses the rotary brush assembly against the painted surface with a regulated thrust force so as to form a circular scratch mark on the painted surface at a predetermined level of visual distinguishability.
Abstract: The invention features flattening a sliced wafer in a thin disc-like form, and chamfered if necessary, through simultaneous double side grinding by passing the wafer through between paired cylindrical grinding rolls supported at both ends in bearings, and subsequently single side polishing or double side polishing the flattened wafer to obtain a polished wafer. A lapping step and an etching step in the related art thus can be dispensed with to curtail the process time. The grinding is done by simultaneous double side grinding, so that it is free from slice mark transfer due to vacuum suction of wafer to hold the wafer, or unlike a wax mounting system it does not involve complicated operation. Furthermore, instead of batch grinding, continuous grinding can be readily made. The process is thus free from working stock removal fluctuations and permits high flatness and stable thickness to be obtained by the grinding.
Abstract: A device for producing inclines and/or grooves on friction pads, such as brake pads for motor vehicles comprises a table with a mount for the brake pads. The table is linearly moved on a carriage below flat, truncated-conical grind disks which are disposed in pairs and oriented mutually mirror-symmetrical. The table is swivellable about an axis oriented tranversely to the travel direction. The swivel movement is effected by at least one pneumatic cylinder. Control valves or control switches run onto cam ramps on cam bars when the table is driven forward and they initiate the swivel operation of the table. The friction pad is operated on when the table is in the downwardly or upwardly pivoted position, whereby the table is preferably locked in its position during the various grinding operations.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for grinding a workpiece which is supported for rotation about a first axis with a first grinding wheel supported for rotation about a second axis and a second grinding wheel supported for rotation about a third axis. The first grinding wheel engages with the workpiece in a location which is substantially diametrically opposed to the location at which the second grinding wheel engages with the workpiece. Control means are disclosed for controlling the radial grinding force imparted to the workpiece by the first and second grinding wheels so that the force imparted to the workpiece from the first grinding wheel is substantially equal and opposed to the force imparted to the workpiece by the second grinding wheel to prevent distortion of the workpiece.
Abstract: The invention relates to a polishing stack with at least one fixed and one moveable polishing roll for polishing a plastic sheet leaving a wide extrusion die. A device is provided that preloads the frames and the bearings and acts on a roll gap adjusting device which includes a pinion gear arrangement and drive for finely adjusting the roll gap between the fixed and moveable rolls. The polishing stack in preferred form includes a center fixed roll and top and bottom adjustable rolls.
Abstract: An apparatus is presented to automatically handle operations related to grinding simultaneously the two end faces of a core of an armature. The apparatus consists of four main sections: a charging section to charge a core at a time to a transport section; a transport section to transport the core to the grinding section, a grinding section disposed at the lowest region of the transport section to grind the two end faces simultaneously; and a discharging section to discharge the ground core for further processing. The cores are individually housed in the retaining grooves of the transport section with the core axis lying horizontally. The grinding wheels of the grinding section straddles the core, thus enabling the two end faces to be ground at the same time.
