Reciprocating Tool Patents (Class 451/356)
  • Patent number: 10618124
Abstract: A reciprocating saw blade includes an axially elongated blade body having a first end portion, a second end portion, a cutting edge extending from the first end portion to the second end portion, and an opposite back edge extending from the first end portion to the second end portion. An exposed first tang is coupled to the first end portion and is configured to removably mount the blade body in a blade holder of a powered reciprocating saw. An unexposed second tang is defined by a first score in the blade body between the first end portion and the second end portion. The first score is configured so that the second tang can be exposed by breaking off a first removable portion of the blade body at the first score. The second tang is configured to removably mount the blade body in a blade holder of a powered reciprocating saw when the second tang is exposed.

  • Patent number: 9561569
Abstract: An oscillating drive for a power tool includes a wobble shaft located on a drive shaft of a motor for a power tool, and a wobble member rotatably supported on the wobble shaft. The wobble member includes a wobble drive structure that defines a drive axis. A tool driver includes a tool drive structure at one end that is coupled to the wobble drive structure and a tool holder configured to releasably retain an accessory tool. Rotation of the drive shaft causes the wobble shaft to wobble about an axis of the drive shaft. The tool driver holds the wobble member against the rotation of the wobble shaft such that the wobble member wobbles without rotating which results in an oscillating motion of the drive axis of the wobble member in a plane that is parallel to the axis of the drive shaft. The oscillating motion of the drive axis causes the tool driver to oscillate.

Abstract: The sander for sanding particularly of the flat, concave and convex surfaces and the method of its usage is based on the fact, that the sanding tool (paper, linen or other carrier with sanding abrasive layer) is pressed onto the grinded surface by means of a flexible pressure plate able to copy the concave and convex surfaces with the possibility to set accurately the radius of this curve. The principle of the technical solution of the invention of the flexible pressure plate consists in the fact, that the pressure generated during the work onto the body, handle, or handles of the sander with mechanical drive is transferred onto this pressure plate at least at two points simultaneously or over at least one balance beam.

Abstract: A sander can include a housing, an indicator disposed on the housing, and a motor assembly in the housing. The motor assembly can include an output member. A platen can be driven by the output member. A sensor assembly can be configured to sense a condition in which a pressing force in excess of a predetermined force is applied to the sander in a direction normal to the platen and generate a sensor signal in response thereto. A controller can receive the sensor signal from the sensor assembly and control operation of the indicator in response thereto. The sensor assembly can include a force sensing resistor. The force sensing resistor can be disposed adjacent to a gripping portion of the power sanding tool. The indicator can include at least one light source. The controller can illuminate the light source according to a schedule.

  • Patent number: 7717772
Abstract: There is provided a polishing tool which enables a polishing surface thereof to be in surface contact with a to-be-polished surface over a wide area of the polishing surface when polishing a corner portion, and which can reduce an impact of a polishing member caused when the polishing member hits against a member around the polishing member. A generally triangular polishing member having apex angles of 60 degrees is connected, through the intermediary of an oscillation transmitting member made of a plate-like spring member, to an oscillating shaft oscillated by a motor. The oscillation transmitting member has a triangular base having at the center thereof a fixing hole by which the triangular base is fitted and fixed to the oscillating shaft, and triangular polishing member holding portions each extending from each side of the triangular base. The polishing member has three polishing pieces each composed of a pad held by the polishing member holding portion and a polishing sheet laminated to the pad.
