  • Patent number: 10675729
Abstract: An electromechanical rotary pipe mill or hone including a body, a motor with a mill or hone disposed thereon in radially adjustable position with respect to the body, a clamping device extendable from the body and configured for anchoring the tool in a tubular, and a portion of the body that is rotatable about an axis of the electromechanical pipe mill or hone. A method for removing material in a tubular including running on electric wireline an electromechanical rotary pipe mill or hone as in any prior embodiment to a target location in a tubular, registering the mill or hone with a feature identified for removal of material, deploying the clamping device, rotating the mill or hone on its own axis, rotating a portion of the body about its own axis, and radially displacing the mill or hone to remove material.

  • Patent number: 10322490
Abstract: A honing tool has a tool body and shells disposed on the tool body. Honing stone sets each provided with two or more honing stones are provided. The shells each support one of the honing stone sets. Guide bars of the honing tool are placed against the bore and a portion of the bore is conically honed with decreasing stroke of the honing tool, wherein a lower reversing point of the honing tool remains substantially unchanged. Honing is terminated as soon as an upper reversing point has reached a predetermined terminal value. Alternatively, a portion of the bore is conically honed with a constant stroke of the honing tool, wherein reversing points of the stroke of the honing tool remain substantially unchanged and a feeding force pressing the honing stones against the bore is controlled as a function of a position of the honing tool in the bore.

  • Patent number: 5527214
Abstract: The tool includes a body which supports angularly spaced roughing hones and angularly spaced finishing hones for radially inward and outward movement between collapsed and expanded positions. Expansion of the roughing hones is effected by axially spaced ramps when a rod is moved linearly in one direction while expansion of the finishing hones is effected by additional axially spaced ramps when the rod is shifted linearly in the other direction. By turning an adjusting nut from the free end of the tool body, the axial spacing between the ramps of the roughing hones may be changed for purposes of adjusting the inclination of the roughing hones. A second adjusting nut coaxial with the first nut may also be turned from the free end of the tool body to change the axial spacing between the ramps of the finishing hones and thereby effect adjustment of the inclination of the finishing hones.
