Portable Or Mobile Repeater Patents (Class 455/11.1)
  • Patent number: 10291364
Abstract: A communications device and method, in which data is communicated via a wireless access interface to a destination communications device with a device-to-device communication procedure. The communications device encodes the data, as data units, for transmission to the destination communications device with a repeat request-type protocol, the encoding providing an indication whether the data has been received correctly. The communications device transmits the encoded data units to the destination communications device, and receives an acknowledgement ACK message that one of the encoded data units has been correctly received by the destination communications device, or a negative acknowledgement NACK message that the encoded data units were not received correctly by the destination communications device.

Abstract: The present application describes systems and methods of performing self-interference cancellation. According to an embodiment, the method sends a transmit signal through a circulator to substantially isolate the transmit signal from a receiver, with at least a portion of the transmit signal entering a receive path towards the receiver. The method also generates a reflected signal from an antenna. The reflected signal is at substantially less power than an incident power to the antenna. The reflected signal includes a transmitter carrier signal and a transmitter noise. The method also routes a received signal from the antenna to the receiver, and routes the reflected signal through a phase shifter in the receive path. Further, the method combines the reflected, phase shifted transmitter noise with the received signal in the receive path to cancel the portion of the transmit signal that entered the receive path towards the receiver.

  • Patent number: 10009816
Abstract: To more appropriately maintain a wireless communication connection, a communication apparatus obtains an identifier of a first network connected, by a first wireless communication scheme, to another communication apparatus; searches for a second network by the first wireless communication scheme, which exists on the periphery, and obtains an identifier of the second network; and transmits, if the identifier of the first network and the identifier of the second network are different, a predetermined notification signal to the other communication apparatus via communication by a second wireless communication scheme with lower transmission power than the first wireless communication scheme.

  • Patent number: 9985716
Abstract: In a wireless multi-hop relay network arranged in a tree topology, the base station and one or more relay stations are associated as a virtual base station (VBS). The base station and each relay station have a unique virtual base station identifier (VBS-ID) associated with the path defined by the base station and the one or more relay stations. A relay station in the branch uses its VBS-ID for communicating with an attached subscriber station (e.g. a mobile station) such that communications between the base station and subscriber station occur via the VBS. Subscriber station data communications are relayed between the base station and the one or more relay stations over the VBS via a tunnel connection. The VBS is auto configurable. Mobility for subscriber stations and 10 relay stations is provided through reconfiguration of VBS's.

  • Patent number: 9980180
Abstract: A communication system (1) is disclosed in which a relaying user device (UE-R) (3-2) obtains bit rate information (e.g. aggregate maximum bit rate, AMBR) for relaying data for another (relayed) user device (UE) (3-1, 3-3). The obtention of said bit rate information may by receiving a message from the another (relayed) device, UE1, for registering the UE1 to an application server, AS (PSCC). The registration message may comprise UE1 identity, UE-R identity and information identifying a bit rate required by the UE1 while communicating via the UE-R (e.g. an AMBR parameter such as Relay-APN-AMBR). The UE-R sends the registration message received from the UE1 to a core network (7) node (e.g. a gateway device like a P-GW or S-GW, an MME, or a PCRF) comprising the information identifying a bit rate for relaying communication data for the UE (3-1, 3-3) to which the bit rate information relates.

  • Patent number: 9960836
Abstract: A satellite is configured for use in space so as to receive RF signals, convert them to a different frequency range, and retransmit the converted RF signals. The satellite comprises a payload area supporting a motherboard structure with a plurality of frequency converters supported on it. The frequency converters are each connected with an antenna system of the satellite so that each of them receives a respective RF input signal. A local oscillator source supported on said motherboard structure generates a local oscillator signal, and a motherboard in the motherboard structure receives the local oscillator signal and transmits it through the motherboard to each of the frequency converters. The frequency converters each convert the respective RF input signal to a respective RF output signal using the local oscillator signal and transmit the RF output signal to the antenna system so as to be transmitted wirelessly.
