  • Patent number: 11868392
Abstract: A machine may form all or part of a network-based system configured to provide media service to one or more user devices. The machine may be configured to define a station library within a larger collection of media files. In particular, the machine may access metadata that describes a seed that forms the basis on which the station library is to be defined. The machine may determine a genre composition for the station library based on the metadata. The machine may generate a list of media files from the metadata based on a relevance of each media file to the station library. The machine may determine the relevance of each media file based on a similarity of the media file to the genre composition of the station library as well as a comparison of metadata describing the media file to the accessed metadata that describes the seed.

Abstract: A receiver includes a radio frequency metal-oxide-semiconductor amplifier, a mixer, and an intermediate frequency amplifier. The radio frequency metal-oxide-semiconductor amplifier is used for receiving amplifying a signal of a first band and a signal of a second band of a satellite microwave band from an external antenna circuit according to a control signal. The mixer is coupled to the radio frequency metal-oxide-semiconductor amplifier for reducing the signal of the first band to a signal of a first intermediate frequency band according to a first oscillation frequency of a local oscillator, or reducing the signal of the second band to a signal of a second intermediate frequency band according to a second oscillation frequency of the local oscillator. The intermediate frequency amplifier is coupled to the mixer for amplifying and outputting the signal of the first intermediate frequency band and the signal of the second intermediate frequency band.

  • Patent number: 8213857
Abstract: Providing content to a device. Content stored on a device can be examined or searched based on the programming of channels that are available to the device over various networks. The content can be searched using other rules related to user preferences or content characteristics. Based on the results of the examination of the content, playlists are generated. Each playlist includes content from the device that matches or partially matches the content associated with one of the channels. Using the playlists, a user can load content from their device that has a theme consistent with a particular channel. When signal loss is detected for a given channel, the playlist associated with that channel can be loaded and played by the device. The device can resume playing the channel when the signal is again adequately detected.

  • Patent number: 8200159
Abstract: The invention relates to a wireless transmitting and receiving module including a radiofrequency module filtering and amplifying the wireless signals received, a high intermediate frequency module transposing the wireless signals received to a high intermediate frequency, the transpositions being carried out by mixing of the wireless signals with signals of known frequency generated by local oscillator modules, and a low intermediate frequency module transposing the wireless signals received to a low intermediate frequency. In particular, the invention applies to the radiocommunication software modules that can receive and/or transmit on the broad band, that is to say in a frequency range from 30 MHz to 3 GHz.

  • Patent number: 8095098
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for the management of radio frequency spectrum within a network such as a CATV network. In one aspect of the invention, an improved signal reflector apparatus adapted for use in the network is disclosed, the reflector circuit being designed to strongly reflect signal frequencies at the lower end of the CATV reverse band, and/or above the higher end of the forward band, while simultaneously allowing the rest of the reverse band and the entire forward band to pass freely through the device. This selective filtering of the spectrum allows control signals generated within a premises or private network to be directed (by reflection) to other devices within that network. A blocking element (e.g., amplifier) may also be used to provide control of the transmission and attenuation profile of the reflector apparatus. The passage of power signals such as DC or low frequency AC is also optionally provided.

  • Patent number: 8059731
Abstract: A base station performs communication of an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) scheme with a mobile station by using any one of equal to or greater than two frequency bands. The base station includes means that transmits a synchronization channel and a control channel using a band that includes a center frequency fA on a raster of a first band (20 MHz) and that has a bandwidth equal to or greater than that of a second band (5 MHz of the end). The control channel includes center frequency information for specifying a center frequency fA? of the second band. Since the mobile station moves to a desired band after obtaining center frequency information using a band including the center frequency on a raster, the mobile station can connect to the desired band without searching frequencies that are not on the raster.

  • Patent number: 8055221
Abstract: Improving the audio QoS of a video call service in a weak signal environment is accomplished. To do this, even if data is damaged in a weak signal environment during a video call using a mobile station in the weak signal environment, an audio call is preferentially processed such that a minimum audio QoS can be secured. If a transmitting mobile station enters into a weak signal environment while transmitting audio data and video data together during a video call, the transmitting mobile station transmits only audio data, and in response to this, a receiving mobile station processes the audio data transmitted during a set time interval and continuously reproduces the audio data. Audio interruption can be reduced, thereby securing a minimum audio QoS.

Abstract: A system for managing wireless communication in view of other potentially interfering wireless signal sources. Signal-related information may be collected from one or more apparatuses that are participating in a network. The information may then be evaluated in order to determine expected signal activity in the environment in which the apparatuses are operating. In some instances the signal activity may then be compared to a scan schedule utilized, for example, to identify legacy apparatuses operating in the environment. This scan schedule may be altered to avoid potential conflicts that may exist with the expected signal activity. The scan schedule may then be communicated to the networked apparatuses.

  • Patent number: 7957714
Abstract: A system for tuning a radio-frequency signal includes a first input path, a second input path, a common reference generator, a selector, a mixer, and a filter. The first input path and the second input path propagate a first single-ended input signal and a second single-ended input signal, respectively, to the selector. The selector converts the first single-ended input signal and the second single-ended input signal into a first differential input signal and a second differential input signal, respectively, using a reference signal generated by the common reference generator. The selector selectively couples one of the first and the second input path to an input of the mixer. The mixer downconverts a selected on of the differential input signals received from the selector. The filter attenuates a portion of the downconverted input signal outside a passband associated with the filter.

  • Patent number: 7945225
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for combining digital sidebands with an FM analog signal for IBOC transmission by a single antenna. Specifically, a high power filter combiner for combining an FM analog and a digital signal of the same channel, or frequency, is disclosed. The combiner has two inputs that respectively receive an FM analog and a digital signal to be transmitted in the same FM channel. The combiner has mild tuned filters interposed between the inputs and the output which are tuned to pass the FM analog signal while reflecting the digital signal such that the passed FM analog signal and the reflected digital signal combine as IBOC, i.e., an FM analog signal with digital sideband signals. The combined IBOC signal is provided at an output of the combiner, capable for transmission through a single antenna.
