  • Patent number: 10796103
Abstract: A first user equipment (UE)—during a real time text (RTT) communication session with a second UE—may be configured to transmit RTT content in “word mode” by buffering text characters in local memory as they are typed by a user, and holding off on transmitting the buffered text characters until the user types a word delimiter or a timer expires, whichever occurs first. In an example process, the first UE may detect character user input requesting to type a text character, and, in response, the first UE starts a timer and buffers the text character in local memory. The timer can be restarted for additional text characters that are typed before expiration of the timer, and those additional text characters are also buffered. The buffered text characters are transmitted upon detecting delimiter user input requesting to type a word delimiter or the expiration of the timer, whichever occurs first.

Abstract: A cellular communication device has one or more access modes which allow reading and writing of data, for example to change its settings, for example passwords and even the entire operating system and also permitting access to personal information such as the user's telephone book. To prevent cloning and like illegal access activity, the device is configured by restricting access to such data access modes using a device unique security setting. The setting may be a password, preferably a one-time password, or it may be a unique or dynamic or one time configuration of the codes for the read and write instructions of the data mode. There is also disclosed a server, which manages the security settings such that data mode operates during an active connection between the device and the server, and a secure communication protocol for communicating between the server and the cellular device.

Abstract: The various embodiments disclosed herein provide methods, systems, and devices for capturing broadcast streams, analyzing the broadcast streams to obtain information about the media content transmitted in the broadcast streams, obtaining additional information about the media content if available, and assigning a unique event identifier specific to the instance of broadcast of the broadcast stream and/or media segment transmitted in the broadcast stream. In other embodiments, the unique event identifier is broadcasted to broadcast receiving devices. With the unique event identifier, broadcast receiving devices can access the obtained information associated with the media content.

  • Patent number: 9544745
Abstract: Systems and methods for assigning short codes to provide uniformity among wireless carriers. In the systems and methods, a Universal Short Code (USC) Administrator maintains a list of short codes and their lease status so that SMS messages sent to a particular short code may be routed to the proper holder of the short code. A network facilitator is in communication with both the USC Administrator and at least one wireless carrier to route the SMS message to the proper holder of the short code. The short code may be leased for a specified period of time so that the short code can be reassigned after expiration of the lease.

  • Patent number: 9485746
Abstract: Techniques are presented to optimize location classification accuracy for wireless devices. A controller in communication with one or more wireless access points receives measurement data associated with signals received at one or more wireless access points from a plurality of wireless clients. The controller classifies each of the measurement data associated with a corresponding client as indicative a location inside of a particular region or outside of the particular region. The controller determines information of an actual location for each of the clients and classifies the information of the actual location as indicating a location inside of the particular region or outside of the particular region. For a given client whose classification of the information of the actual location does not match the classification of the corresponding measurement data, the controller modifies the information of the actual location of the given client.

Abstract: During a booting procedure when reading the contact features of a smartcard, the body part of a master elementary file is accessed. According to the validity and link of each data, the body part of a Type 1 elementary file, a Type 2 elementary file or a Type 3 elementary file is selectively accessed. The efficiency of the booting procedure can be improved by avoiding unnecessarily accessing the body part of unused data in other types of elementary files.

Abstract: A method for using an input device simultaneously with multiple electronic devices is described. A first connection is established with a first electronic device. The first connection enters an active mode. A second connection is established with a second electronic device. The second connection enters the active mode. The first connection switches to a standby mode in response to the second connection entering the active mode. The first connection and the second connection switch between the active mode and the standby mode, where only one connection is in the active mode at a time.

  • Patent number: 9258071
Abstract: A wireless communication system wirelessly receives a Frequency Modulation (FM) signal including audio data and Radio Data System (RDS) data. The wireless communication system audibly plays the audio data and graphically displays the RDS data from the FM signal. The wireless communication system detects action codes in the RDS data, and in response, initiates a wireless communication session with a wireless communication network. The wireless communication system also audibly captures user data. The wireless communication system then wirelessly transfers the captured user data for delivery to a server over the wireless communication session.
