  • Patent number: 8682277
Abstract: A controlling method and a controlling system for a handheld communication device are provided. In the present method, a tilting state of the handheld communication device is detected by using a G-sensor when a notice is activated. Then, whether the tilting state is changed from a face up state to a face down state is determined. The handheld communication device is controlled to perform a function when the tilting state is confirmed to be changed from the face up state to the face down state. Accordingly, the handheld communication device may be controlled to perform a function timely according to the positioned state of the device without going through complicated procedures, so as to provide a more intuitive and convenient way to control the handheld communication device.

Abstract: A method of communicating between a mobile communication device including a power supply, and a base station. The mobile device has first and second alternative communication modes, the first communication mode having higher quality of service and higher power consumption than the second communication mode. The second communication mode is adopted in response to a characteristic of the mobile device power supply indicative of a reduced reserve of power in the power supply, and a state indication is transmitted from the mobile device to the base station. The base station can respond to the state indication from the mobile device by modifying a communication characteristic of the base station with the mobile device, whereby to tend to compensate for the mobile device switching between the first and second communication modes.

  • Patent number: 8537734
Abstract: The present invention relates to an arrangement and a method in a user equipment of saving radio resources in a communication network system comprising a communication network node (15) communicating withto one or more user equipments (18) on uplink (17) and downlink (16) data channels over a radio interface, whereby a transmission power 5 value on said uplink data channel (17) is determined by adding a power offset value to a pre-determined reference power value. A carrier-to-interference (C/I) value on said uplink data channel (17) is determined and said power offset value is then determined based on said determined carrier-to-interference value, whereby said power offset value is determined in said user equipment (18) instead of being received over said radio interface 10 from said communication network node (15).

  • Patent number: 8532718
Abstract: A mobile communication device comprising a low power signal detector and a manner of utilizing a low power signal detector in a mobile communication device. Various aspects of the present invention may comprise a first module adapted to receive a communication signal. A second module may be adapted to operate in a plurality of operating modes, comprising a first mode and a second mode. The first mode may, for example, comprise characteristics of a sleep mode. The second module may, in the second mode, process the received communication signal (e.g., determining information communicated by the received communication signal). A third module may be adapted to determine, based at least in part on a non-informational characteristic of the received communication signal, whether to operate the second module in the first mode or in the second mode.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a server apparatus for executing communication connection between a first terminal being connected to a first communication network, and a second terminal being connected to a second communication network, includes a memory, an acquisition module and a controller. The memory stores an electric quantity table and a media determining table. The acquisition module acquires remaining information of the battery from the first terminal. The controller refers to the electric quantity table and the media determining table to select a communication media based on the acquired remaining amount information of the battery and consumed electricity by the first terminal. When a request for the first terminal is received, controller assigns the selected communication media to the first terminal, when the battery remaining amount of the first terminal varies during communication, the controller re-determines to change the communication media.

Abstract: The present invention provides a terminal supporting eNFC and its processing method, in which a card emulation mode is disabled when a user card does not support SWP, and NFC in non card emulation modes can further be supported. A mobile terminal disabling/enabling the NFC function is implemented by the interaction of the mobile terminal with a NFC emulation front end chip therein. When the terminal determines that the user card does not support the SWP interface, it disables the NFC function. If the terminal is required to work in a non card emulation mode, the terminal starts a NFC application in the non card emulation, mode, and enables the NFC function when determining that the NFC function is in a disabled state; after the NFC ends, the terminal disables the NFC function when determining that the user card does not support the SWP interface.
