  • Patent number: 10958481
Abstract: In an example, a hierarchical chaining gateway (hCG) includes a first communication interface corresponding to a first domain using a first chaining protocol, and a second communication interface corresponding to a second domain using a second and different chaining protocol. The hCG receives a service packet including a first service function chain header via the first communication interface. The hCG also identifies a key identifier in the service packet, and retrieves a second service function chain header based on the key identifier. Then, the hCG transforms the service packet by substituting the first service function chain header corresponding to first domain in the service packet with the second service function chain header corresponding to the second domain. Next, the hCG transmits the service packet including the second service function chain header via the second communication interface corresponding to the second domain.

  • Patent number: 10932127
Abstract: Systems and methods for making local decisions regarding the trustworthiness of V2V communications are provided. According to one embodiment, a vehicle information packet is received by a vehicle connectivity subsystem of a connected car and is indicative of an attribute of a source from which the packet was received. The source purportedly represents a neighboring vehicle in proximity to the connected car. A trustworthiness value for the packet is determined based on the source and coherence of the packet with local information maintained by the connected car. The trustworthiness value is indicative of a likelihood that the source represents a neighboring vehicle in proximity to the connected car from which communications are to be trusted. An action to be taken by the vehicle connectivity subsystem is determined with respect to the source or the packet based on the trustworthiness value. The determined action taken by the vehicle connectivity subsystem.

Abstract: A system and method of accessing an emergency dispatcher in a foreign country is provided. The system and method includes a mobile device and a database. The mobile device includes at least a microprocessor, a display and a global positioning system. The mobile device is connected to a telecommunications network. The database stores data including a plurality of telephone numbers assigned to a plurality of emergency dispatchers located in different locations in the world. A user may initiate a telecommunication to an emergency dispatcher using the mobile device. When the initiation occurs, the microprocessor determines a location of the mobile device using the global positioning system. The microprocessor then retrieves a telephone number from the database. The telephone number is assigned to the emergency dispatcher within the location of the mobile device.

Abstract: A system senses, analyzes, and reports a collision event experienced by a person or object. A sensor module records angular velocities over time and a processor analyzes the sensed velocities, calculates properties of angular velocities, such as jerk and jolt, compares these properties with threshold values selected to correlate to predicted severities of injury to the person or object, and transmits information regarding these properties to a communication device controlled by user-designated persons. Group tracking and communication devices ar used by monitors to manage multiple persons equipped with sensor modules. The sensor modules and group tracking and communication devices are designed to be portable, attachable, and detachable so that they can be attached to different types of gear used by persons engaging in different activities.
