Location Monitoring Patents (Class 455/404.2)
  • Patent number: 10171940
Abstract: Systems, methods and tools for a geofence creator to select a specific mode of transportation during the geofence creation process to target a specific subset of customers. The geofence creator may select geofence properties during the creation, including size, location, mode of transportation and a message displayed to active users entering the geofence under the correct mode of transportation. The geofence system use different mechanisms for identifying the mode of transportation being utilized by the user of a client device. The client device may include hardware or software measuring devices or sensors capable of identifying the location of the user, the rate of change in the user's location, changes in the user's position, the acceleration of the user and/or the velocity of the user. If the correct mode of transportation is identified when the user enters the location of the geofence, the message will be displayed, otherwise no message may display on the user's client device.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure support a head-mounted display (HMD) wirelessly coupled to a console. The HMD includes a positional tracking system, a beam controller and a transceiver. The positional tracking system tracks position of the HMD and generates positional information describing the tracked position of the HMD. The transceiver communicates with a console via a wireless channel, in accordance with communication instructions, the communication instructions causing the transceiver to communicate over one directional beam of a plurality of directional beams. The beam controller determines a change in the positional information. Based on the change to the positional information, the beam controller determines a directional beam of the plurality of directional beams. The beam controller further generates the communication instructions identifying the determined directional beam, and provides the communication instructions to the transceiver.

Abstract: A neural network model, such as a deep neural network (DNN), is trained using many speech examples to perform beam selection in a microphone array-based speech processing system. The DNN is trained using many different speech examples that are labeled with position or direction information relative to a training microphone array. The DNN may then be trained to recognize a direction of incoming speech so that at runtime the trained DNN may process input audio data from a microphone array and may output to a beam selector an indicator of the desired beam that may be selected for further processing. The DNN may be configured to output a beam index and/or coordinates (or other position data) corresponding to an estimated location of the detected speech. The DNN may also be configured to output acoustic unit data corresponding to speech units (for example corresponding to phonemes, senons, etc. such as those of a detected wakeword or other word).

Abstract: Femtocells are often used to extend the coverage of wireless telecommunication networks, but do not typically incorporate mechanisms that allow their location to be easily ascertained. As described herein, a system may determine the locations of femtocells, based on the locations of user devices that attach to, detach from, handover between, and/or detect the femtocells. A map (such as a three-dimensional map) may be generated based on the determined locations of femtocells. The locations of femtocells may be used, for example, in emergency broadcast situations, in order to ensure that messages are distributed as completely as possible in a given region.

Abstract: A mobile phone or other mobile device is configured to compute a location code based on Wi-Fi or other wireless networking configuration parameters. The location code is computed as a cryptographic hash of the configuration parameters and is provided to a telecommunications system that supports Wi-Fi or other WLAN voice services. The telecommunications system maintains one or more location tables, each of which indicates multiple location codes and corresponding street addresses. When processing an emergency 9-1-1 call to an emergency response service, the system looks up the street address of the calling mobile device based on the most recently provided location code, and provides the street address to the emergency response service.
