Message Storage Or Retrieval Patents (Class 455/412.1)
  • Patent number: 10080132
Abstract: The present invention provides for managing communication of data from Internet-connected devices, such as those devices within an IoT environment. Specifically, the invention provides automated determination of which devices are communicating to which third-party entities and, in some embodiments, the type of data being communicated to such third-party entities. Once such information is known, the third-party entity can be automatically placed into a designated third-party category, which defines the type of data that the third-party entity is authorized to receive. In addition, a user can manage the communications from such devices by selecting to prohibit (i.e., block) or limit, based on data type, which data is communicated to which third-party entities. Additionally, the identity of the third-party entities can be authenticated/verified, such that if the third-party entity cannot be verified, communication of data to that entity is blocked or limited.

  • Patent number: 10079806
Abstract: A security device may receive, from a client device, a request associated with a server device. The security device may determine a communication channel and contact information for validating the request. The security device may provide validation information via the communication channel using the contact information. The security device may receive a validation response from the client device, and may determine whether the validation response is valid. The security device may selectively perform a first action or a second action based on determining whether the validation response is valid. The first action may be performed based on determining that the validation response is valid, and may include providing a validation indicator, with the request, to the server device. The second action may be performed based on determining that the validation response is not valid, and may include providing an invalidation indicator, with the request, to the server device.

  • Patent number: 10075182
Abstract: Methods and apparatus related to message compression/decompression are described. A compressed message is generated by indicating what changes are to be made to a previous message to produce the message sought to be transmitted. The required change, in the form of at least one command and corresponding parameter, is transmitted as a compressed version of the message being communicated. This approach takes advantage of the fact that messages sent over time often include much of the same message content and only one or a few fields may have changed. The techniques are general and involve including a command in the compressed message along with at least one parameter. The command indicates processing to be performed on a previous message to generate the uncompressed message. The parameter may be, e.g., data to be inserted into the previous message or specify a location in the previous message where the change is to be made.

  • Patent number: 10057220
Abstract: The computer receives customer registration information and encryption parameters from a customer, then transmits them to the server of an entity such as a pharmacy or bank. After the entity utilizes the transmitted encryption parameters to encrypt confidential portions of a message to the customer, the computer captures the message by way of receiving, photographing, scanning, or otherwise obtaining a copy of the message. The computer identifies glyphs in the message indicative of the corresponding encryption parameters as well as where the encrypted portions of the message start/end. Using the identified glyphs and corresponding encryption parameters, the computer decrypts the confidential portions of the message and displays the message in entirety on the computer.

  • Patent number: 10056918
Abstract: Batch compression management of messages. A message being sent to a batch for transmission is intercepted. The message is assigned to a batch pool, in which multiple batch pools are provided as sub-sets of the batch. The assigning of the message to the batch pool is based on a similarity of properties of the message with other messages and determined by looking up the properties in a batch pool mapping database. The message is added to the batch pool or a new batch pool is created for the message. A batch pool of messages is compressed using a dictionary of the properties common to at least some of the messages in the batch pool. The compressed batch pools are transmitted over an input/output channel.

  • Patent number: 9949296
Abstract: Aspects of resolving conflicting configuration parameters during wireless communication include triggering reselection to a new cell from a current cell and determining that a user equipment (UE) is configured in a forward access channel (FACH) state and is waiting for a Layer 2 Acknowledgement (L2 ACK) message from a network entity when reselection to the new cell is triggered. Further, the aspects include performing a collision resolution procedure in response to the determination that the UE is configured in the FACH state and is waiting for the L2 ACK message. In some aspects, the collision resolution procedure establishes which one of a plurality of information elements (IEs) to choose for a reconfiguration procedure.
