  • Patent number: 11540101
Abstract: A service provider may receive a user device that includes an embedded subscriber identity module (eSIM) associated with an equipment identifier (eID) with a previously provisioned service. The previously provisioned service may be provided by an eSIM profile (identified by an Integrated Circuit Card Identifier or ICCID) and the eSIM may contain more than one ICCID. The service provider may re-provision one of the existing ICCIDs to provide service based on the eID and historical data. The device and the carrier provisioning system may determine whether one of the profiles (ICCIDs) installed in the eSIM matches an already known eSIM profile (ICCD) and re-provision the eSIM profile (ICCD) for new wireless service. The service provider may then activate the user device for communication via the new wireless service in response to re-provisioning of the applicable eSIM profile (ICCID).

  • Patent number: 11539398
Abstract: A system for controlling a level of communication signals broadcast onto an associated power line communication (PLC) network by an associated transmitting device includes an input circuit, an adjustable amplifier circuit, and an output circuit. The input circuit receives a first communication signal having a first signal level from the associated transmitting device. The adjustable amplifier circuit applies a selectable gain to the first communication signal based on one or more of a monitored condition of the associated vehicle and/or a monitored condition of the associated PLC network to generate a level-adjusted communication signal having a second signal level different than the first signal level of the first communication signal. The output circuit receives the level-adjusted communication signal and broadcasts the level-adjusted communication signal onto the associated PLC network.

  • Patent number: 11540112
Abstract: A wireless communication network enforces a user policy for a User Equipment (UE) and directs another wireless communication network to enforce another user policy for another UE. In the wireless communication network, an Application Function (AF) receives the user policy from another AF in the other wireless communication network and transfers the user policy to the PCF. The PCF distributes the user policy to a Network Function (NF). The NF enforces the user policy. The PCF identifies the other user policy for the other UE and transfers the other user policy to the AF. The AF responsively transfers the other user policy to the other AF. The other AF transfers the other user policy to another PCF in the other wireless communication network. The other PCF distributes the other user policy to another NF in the other wireless communication network which enforces the other user policy.

Abstract: Method for generating haptic feedback responses starts with processor causing communication interface for communication session to be displayed on first user interface and on a second user interface. Processor detects first touch input on first user interface and second touch input on second user interface. Processor monitors location of the first touch input on the first user interface and location of the second touch input on the second user interface. Processor determines distance between location of first touch input on first user interface and location on first user interface corresponding to location of second touch input on second user interface. Processor causes the first user interface and the second user interface to generate a haptic feedback response based on the distance. The haptic feedback response increases in intensity or speed as the distance decreases and decreases in intensity or speed as the distance increases. Other embodiments are described herein.

  • Patent number: 11533400
Abstract: In a method for securing access to a service, a device is set in a restricted operation mode that allows addressing only a first server and that is associated with a first identifier relating to a first connectivity gateway. The device accesses the first identifier and a subscription profile that is active during the restricted operation mode. The first server receives from the device a request for enrolling a device user and at least one feature relating to a user identity. The first server verifies whether the user identity feature is valid. If the user identity feature is valid, the first server sends to the device a command for deactivating the restricted operation mode. The device deactivates the restricted operation mode while storing, instead of the first identifier, a second identifier relating to a second connectivity gateway. The second identifier allows accessing a second server that manages the service.

Abstract: A wireless device receives one or more radio resource control message comprising configuration parameters of a plurality of cells. An activation command indicating activation of a plurality of secondary cells (SCells) of the plurality of cells is received. A first downlink control information (DCI), comprising a power saving indication bitmap, is received. Each bit of the power saving indication bitmap indicates whether to monitor a downlink control channel on a corresponding activated SCell of the plurality of SCells. The wireless device starts monitoring a downlink control channel of an activated SCell of the activated SCells, in response to a bit, of the power saving indication bitmap, corresponding to the activated SCell, indicating monitoring the downlink control channel. A second DCI is received via the downlink control channel.

Abstract: There is provided mechanisms for initial network access of a subscriber entity to a radio access network. A method is performed by the subscriber entity. The method comprises transmitting an attach message towards a network node. The attach message indicates a request for network access of the subscriber entity to a radio access network of the network node. The method comprises receiving an identification request originating from the network node. The identification request requests identification of the subscriber entity. The method comprises transmitting a response message towards the network node. The response message comprises an Access Identifier of the subscriber entity. The Access Identifier indicates that the subscriber entity is subscription-less. The method comprises receiving a grant from the network node. The grant allows the subscriber entity limited network access.

Abstract: The subject matter described in this disclosure can be embodied in methods and systems for providing signal quality information for a non-primary base station. A computing device identifies a first quality of wireless communication between a first base station and the computing device. The computing device identifies, while remaining in communication with the first base station, a second quality of wireless communication between a second base station and the computing device. The computing device determines that the second quality of wireless communication is better than the first quality of wireless communication. The computing device continues to communicate with the first base station after having determined that the second quality of wireless communication is better than the first quality of wireless communication.

Abstract: A method and a device for two-step contention based random access are provided. The method includes: sending, by a user equipment (UE), an Msg1 message; and determining that two-step random access of the user equipment is successful, in a case that a UE identifier carried in the Msg1 message is a cell radio network temporary identifier (C-RNTI) and physical layer scheduling signaling addressed based on the C-RNTI is received by the user equipment. For two-step contention based random access, if the UE identifier carried in the Msg1 message is a C-RNTI, the user equipment determines that the two-step random access is successful in a case that the physical layer scheduling signaling addressed based on the C-RNTI is received by the user equipment. In this way, the two-step contention based random access can be achieved.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for providing uplink broadcast service connectivity via a wireless local area network (WLAN). In some implementations, a wireless device may transmit an uplink communication to an access point (AP) that supports uplink broadcast services, and the AP may forward the uplink communication to a remote destination indicated in the uplink communication. In some implementations, the wireless device may be in an unassociated state and may transmit the uplink communication without establishing a formal wireless session with the AP. The uplink communication may include a request for the AP to embed AP-provided data to the uplink communication before forwarding it the remote destination. This disclosure includes techniques to prevent flooding and unauthorized uplink communications being used for a denial of service attack on the remote destination.

Abstract: A microelectromechanical system (MEMS) microphone includes a cavity to receive an acoustic signal. The acoustic signal causes movement of a diaphragm relative to one or more other surfaces, which in turn results in an electrical signal representative of the received acoustic signal. A light sensor is included within the packaging of the MEMS microphone such that an output of the light sensor is representative of a light signal received with the acoustic signal. The output of the light sensor is used to modify the electrical signal representative of the received acoustic signal in a manner that limits light interference with an acoustical output signal.
