  • Publication number: 20140256311
Abstract: A method in a first base station (105) for handling a data transferral in a cellular network (100) is provided. The first base station (105) serves a user equipment (125) via a first cell (115). When the first base station (105) obtains an indication that a second cell (120) provides a coverage for the user equipment (125), the first base station (105) sends a message to a second base station (110) serving the second cell (120). The message commands the second base station (110) to prepare for receiving the uplink data from the user equipment (125) via the second cell (120). The first base station (105) also sends a request to the user equipment (125). The request commands the user equipment (125) to prepare for sending the uplink data both via the first cell (115) and via the second cell (120) in respective separate intra frequency transmissions.

Abstract: A cellular communications system is described in which a mobile cellular device is configured to return status data to the network when instructed to obtain cell measurements. When used, the status data may indicate that measurements are in hand and that further measurement reports may or will follow. The status data may also indicate if the reporting interval and/or the measurement gaps defined by the network are suitable to make the measurements given the current status of the mobile device. A network node is also disclosed that can receive the measurement reports and interpret the status data to decide to wait for further measurement results or to issue a new reporting interval or a new cell list or arrange a new configuration of idle gaps in which cell measurements may be made.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for reporting neighbor cell information. The method includes: a network side sending a measurement configuration and reporting information of a drive test to user equipment; the user equipment performing the drive test, and reporting drive test results containing information of neighbor cells around the user equipment to the network side when a reporting triggering condition is satisfied (201). In the present invention, by using a Minimize drive test (MDT) measurement event in the drive test, the information of neighbor cells around the user equipment is discovered and reported to the network side for maintenance, and since the network side obtains the information of neighbor cells around the user equipment in time, the effectiveness of the user equipment performing the cell handover is guaranteed, thereby enhancing a network performance of a communication system.

Abstract: A prepaid messaging solution that utilizes a pre-delivery debit query to tariff a short message, coupled with an additional debit query performed once necessary billing information has been acquired. A short message is tariffed prior to message delivery via a pre-delivery debit query to a prepaid server. During message delivery, the prepaid server is queried a second time, following the HLR query performed by the Short Message Service Center (SMSC). This subsequent debit query bills a subscriber for any additional service fees discovered throughout message delivery, e.g., international/roaming fees, etc. If either the pre-delivery debit query or the subsequent debit query indicates that a subscriber has insufficient account balance to deliver a short message, the message is prevented from being delivered. Abstract: A control apparatus (e.g., a radio base station) for controlling radio communication includes a communication unit for transferring data, an RLC processor for performing radio link control, an RLC parameter adaptive controller for setting a parameter to be used for the radio link control, a broadcast information generator for generating broadcast information including the parameter, and a pseudo incoming call controller for performing pseudo incoming call to a communication terminal (e.g., a mobile terminal) for a plurality of times after the broadcast information is broadcasted to the communication terminal through the communication unit, to measure a success rate of the pseudo incoming calls using responses to the pseudo incoming calls. The RLC parameter adaptive controller updates the parameter according to the success rate measured by the pseudo incoming call controller.

  • Patent number: 8731548
Abstract: In a cellular communication network, a user equipment can adapt the intensity (or measurement activity) with which it attempts to identify a new neighbor cell, based on a comparison of the quality of the already identified neighbor cells with the quality of a reference cell. This intensity is lower provided that the downlink received signal level (e.g. in terms of CPICH Ec/No or/and SCH Ec/No) from an appropriate selection of neighbor cells (cells belonging to active or candidate set) is not weaker than the reference (e.g. serving) cell by a certain threshold. On the other hand the UE shall identify a new cell with higher intensity provided the downlink received signal level (e.g. in terms of CPICH Ec/No or/and SCH Ec/No) from said selection of neighbor cells is weaker than the reference cell by a certain threshold.
