Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to mitigating data-stream dropout in a serial data-stream. A time-sequence of messages of the serial data-stream is received, each containing a data packet communicating an action. Validity of each of the time-sequence of messages received is determined. After receiving each valid message, a plurality of future actions is created based at least in part on the valid message received. The plurality of future actions corresponds to a plurality of future data packets of the time-sequence of messages. After receiving each valid message, the action communicated in the valid message received is performed. After receiving each invalid messages, a next one of the set of sequential future actions created is instead used in place of any action communicated in the data packet of the invalid message received.

Abstract: This application discloses a terminal roaming method and apparatus. A terminal sends, to a first AP associated with the terminal, an action frame that is used to request to associate with a second AP. A receiver address of the action frame is an address of the first AP, and the action frame further includes an identifier of the second AP. When the terminal receives a response frame sent by the first AP for the action frame, and the response frame indicates that association succeeds, the terminal establishes association with the second AP. The terminal first establishes the association with the second AP by using the first AP, and then changes an operating channel to an operating channel of the second AP. • Patent number: 10448455
Abstract: A mobile telephone 12 acts as a radio communications gateway between a 3G network 10 and a Bluetooth® network 11. A video conference call in the 3G network 10 is relayed over the Bluetooth® network 11 to and from a Bluetooth® enabled laptop Personal Computer (PC) 13, which therefore acts as a radio communications terminal. A Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) received by the mobile terminal 12 with the video conference content over the 3G network 10 is transmitted by the mobile telephone 12 to the laptop PC 13 over the Bluetooth® network 13 as a Pseudo-CQI (P-CQI). In this example, the P-CQI is sent in a FLOW control field of a header 40 of a Synchronous Connection Oriented (SCO) or extended SCO (eSCO) data packet of the Bluetooth® network 11. A video conference driver application running on the laptop PC 13 is then able to alter the video conference call properties according to the value of the P-CQI, thus responding to call quality conditions in the 3G network 10.

  • Patent number: 10447870
Abstract: An information terminal transmits information relating to user authentication to an image processing apparatus via short-range wireless communication. The image processing apparatus performs processing for the user authentication using the received information, and transitions to a status where a function of the image processing apparatus is used via an operation unit upon condition that the user authentication has succeeded. The information terminal transmits data to be used in any one of individual functions included in the image processing apparatus to the image processing apparatus based on receipt of information indicating successful user authentication from the image processing apparatus. After receiving the data from the information terminal, the image processing apparatus uses the received data as a setting of the function of the image processing apparatus that corresponds to the data.

  • Patent number: 10264620
Abstract: A policy determination system (500) according to an aspect of the present invention is arranged in a core network (10) and capable of communicating with a control apparatus (100) arranged in a radio access network (20). The control apparatus (100) is configured to perform control related to a state transition between a CONNECTED state and an IDLE state of a mobile terminal (300) based on a state control policy supplied from the policy determination system. The policy determination system (500) includes a policy determination unit (502) that determines a state control policy according to a situation of the mobile terminal (300), and a notification unit (503 or 205) that notifies the control apparatus (100) of the state control policy. This enables, for example, to reduce the number of signalings which are caused due to repetition of state transition (CONNECTED-IDLE transition) of the mobile terminal and are to be processed by the core network, based on the determination by the core network.

In one embodiment of the invention, the UE applies a discontinuous reception (DRX) or discontinuous transmission (DTX) operation in a wireless network. The UE detects one or more predefined traffic conditions. Based on the detected traffic conditions, the UE either stays in the long DRX state longer or extends the short DRX cycle timer. In other embodiments of the invention, the UE configures an idle mode trigger condition. The UE detects one or more predefined traffic condition. Based on the detected traffic conditions, the UE may restart the inactivity timer. In other embodiments of the invention, the UE detects one or more predefined traffic conditions. • Patent number: 9986578
Abstract: Wireless data network access architecture and methods enabling location-specific and/or user-specific provision of services or resources. In one embodiment, an end-user device makes a request for service within a wireless LAN (WLAN). A wireless access point (WAP) controller/policy server determines whether the user device meets criteria for a first user status or a second user status, and assigns the appropriate status to an identifier of the end-user device. When the user device is assigned the first user status, the user device is provided network access according to e.g., a first permissible bandwidth allocation. Otherwise, the user device is provided network access according to a second, different bandwidth allocation. The first and second user status may be assigned based on a location of the user device within e.g., a venue, a class of end-user device, end user application, an access pass associated with the user device, or yet other criteria.
