Wireless Service For Fixed Premises Equipment (e.g., Wireless Local Loop (wll) Telco Emulator, Etc.) Patents (Class 455/426.2)
  • Patent number: 8478264
Abstract: In a master device, an address for a transmission origin and an address of an ultimate transmission destination, included in a message from an end device, are stored, as a pair, as proxy information, and the address of the transmission origin included in the message is overwritten with the local communication address, to form a proxy message to the destination device. Moreover, the master device performs a search for a round-trip route to the destination device and sends the proxy message to the destination device following the outbound route that has been searched. The destination device, upon receipt of a proxy message, sends back a message to the master device following the inbound route that has been searched by the master device. The master device uses the proxy information to send back, to the end device, the message from the destination device.

Abstract: A system for controlling, monitoring, and recording of telecommunications services associated with penal institutions is provided. The system comprises processor, memory, and application that receive a first transmission from a telephone number, the first transmission requesting a voice communication session with a portable electronic device associated with a penal institution. The system analyzes a first file containing a listing of at least one telephone number authorized to originate communication with the device, analyzes a second file describing authorized days and time periods for the device to engage in communication originated by the telephone number, and determines, based on the analysis of the first and second files, that the device is authorized to engage in the requested communication.

Abstract: Methods and Systems for managing one or more communications devices associated with a user of a communications network are disclosed. The methods and systems are capable of receiving an indication regarding wireless communications between a first device and a second device. This indication may indicate that the first device has entered or left a vicinity (or range) of a second device. Additionally, this may be accomplished by using a protocol such as Bluetooth protocol, the IEEE 802.11(b) protocol, and/or the IEEE 802.11(g) protocol. For example, in an embodiment, if a first device (e.g., a Bluetooth-enabled wireless phone) enters the vicinity of a second device (e.g., a Bluetooth-enabled user computer), calls for the user may be automatically forwarded to a phone of the user that is located near the second device. Likewise, in an embodiment, if the first device (e.g., a Bluetooth-enabled wireless phone) leaves the vicinity of the second device (e.g.

Abstract: A system for redirecting calls from a cellular telephone connected to a cellular network, to a conventional telephone handset using a translation module. The translation module has a local radio transceiver for communicating with the cellular telephone with a local connection. The translation module also has a telephone jack for connecting to the telephone handset or to inside wiring connected to a plurality of telephone jacks, wherein the telephone handset is connected to one of the telephone jacks. The translation module has a normal mode and a redirect mode. When the cellular telephone is within range of the local radio transceiver, and the translation device is in redirect mode, the local connection is established to provide control signals and digitized audio signals between the cellular telephone and translation device, allowing calls over the cellular network to be originated and received using the telephone handset emulating characteristics of a landline.

Abstract: A system and method of operating a communication system is described. A communication interface receives a first user request for a voice service from a communication device. In response to receiving the first user request, the communication interface transfers an initial message requesting access to the voice service. The communication interface receives a response to the initial message that indicates that the voice service is not available. Abstract: State machine diagram (300) illustrates inactive connection (303) management wherein all bindings are deregistered, but active sessions remain. The mobile station may, re-register the connection (309), to stop the Linger Timer (305) and return the connection to the active state (303) before timeout, or otherwise before the inactive connection is terminated. Otherwise, the Linger Timer may be stopped when the last active session is moved to a different connection, or released (311). If the Linger Timer times out (315), any active sessions will be released without the explicit action of the mobile station. In the active state (303), if all bindings are deregistered and no active sessions are present, the connection may be terminated immediately as in (313), without invoking the Linger Timer. Thus, the mobile station has an opportunity to take action regarding remaining sessions, such as releasing or refreshing on a different but active connection.

Abstract: A program for rewarding players for gaming at a casino establishment provides a player with real-time incentives while the player is playing at a gaming machine in the casino. Information about the player and/or the player's gaming activity is collected while the player is at a gaming machine in a casino. This information is used by a marketing system to select an incentive to provide to the player. The incentive is then delivered to the player, for example manually by a casino employee or automatically using a printer or other mechanism at the gaming machine. Various types of incentives can be provided to a player, including incentives designed to provide the player with an experience that is favorable to the casino and incentives designed to keep the player gaming in a casino for a longer amount of time.

  • Patent number: 8204543
Abstract: A base station for a cellular wireless communications network has a first interface, enabling connection with a remote communications device using a cellular wireless communications protocol in the cellular wireless communications network. The base station also has a second interface, enabling connection over a wide area network, and a third interface, enabling connection over a local area network. Software enables communication over the wide area network between a remote communications device, connected to the first interface, and a core network of the cellular wireless communications network. Software can also enable the remote communications device to communicate with a device in the local area network, or with a server in the wide area network, without using the core network of the cellular wireless communications network.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a flexible system for providing wireless broadband access. The system can include a gateway that has a plurality of gateway premises equipment (“GPE”) units and a network fuser connected to the plurality of GPE units to coordinate the activities of the plurality of the GPE units. The network fuser can provide DSP configuration information and RF configuration information to the GPE units. The network fuser is also operable to connect to a high-speed network (e.g., a backhaul network) and to provision data from the high-speed network to each of the plurality of GPE units. The system can also include a plurality of customer premises equipment (“CPE”) units remote from the gateway.

Abstract: A mobile station is coupled to a docking station that has a landline connection to a packet-switched network. In response, the mobile station's mobile directory number (MDN) is registered, via the packet-switched network, as being accessible via the docking station. As a result, when a call is placed to the MDN, the call is routed to the docking station via the packet-switched network. Communication devices coupled to the docking station may then be used to answer the call and/or participate in the call.

Abstract: In a case where a cellular phone exists outside a WOS system service area, the cellular phone receives a not-connectable signal and an audio message from a mobile switching controller. The cellular phone conducts disconnection processing with the not-connectable signal as a turning point. Moreover, the cellular phone stores an extension number and converts a dedicated special number into an external number for retransmission, thus establishing connection to a PBX. After the reception of a connection-accepted signal and an automatic exchange answer message from the PBX, the cellular phone automatically transmits the stored extension number.

  • Patent number: 8121592
Abstract: A mobile terminal, to which a phone number of a private IP network and a phone number of a public network are allocated, detects whether the mobile terminal moves from a communication area of a IP wireless base station of a private IP network while the mobile terminal communicates with an IP terminal connected to an IP-PBX of the private IP network through an IP wireless base station of the private IP network. The mobile terminal notifies the IP-PBX that it moves from the communication area of the IP wireless base station to the communication area of the public wireless base station when the mobile terminal detects said movement. The IP-PBX sends instruction for a gateway device, which connects communication between the private IP network and the public network, to call the phone number of the public network of the mobile terminal.
