  • Patent number: 10997600
Abstract: Techniques for efficiently performing data transactions are disclosed herein. In an example, crowd-sourced data is used to generate a network map that includes network properties mapped to one or more geographical locations. The network map is used to determine if a network that has one or more target properties is within a threshold range of a computing device. The target properties are based on one or more parameters of an upcoming data transaction. If a respective network with one or more target properties is within range of the computing device, the upcoming data transaction can be scheduled for initiation when the computing device is connected to the respective network. If no networks have the one or more target properties, the upcoming transaction can be initiated using a current network connection.

  • Patent number: 10986561
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for managing wireless local area network (WLAN) density. The WLAN density is managed to limit how many APs can utilize a first portion of a first frequency band in a geographical area. A limit of APs may be based on an estimated amount of interference that would be caused by the APs to an incumbent system that also uses the first portion of the frequency band. The WLAN density control may prevent the estimated amount of interference caused by APs in a geographical area from exceeding a threshold interference level based on the presence of the incumbent system. WLAN density control may involve the AP configuration of a first AP or may involve the density of client devices associated with one or more APs in the geographical area.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus enabling a wireless network to optimize paging channel operation, based on mobile device context information. In one embodiment, the wireless network is a cellular network (e.g., LTE-Advanced), and both base stations and cellular user devices dynamically exchange and maintain a paging agreement. The paging agreement limits the paging channel operation, thereby minimizing unnecessary scanning and usage of irrelevant radio resources. Such paging mechanisms are limited to the air interface between the base station and the mobile device, and are compatible with existing legacy devices and network entities. Then, in Step ST1418, the cell1 determines to configure the cell2 as a secondary cell (SCell) to be aggregated with the own cell. Then, the cell1 notifies the UE of the above in Step ST1419. Upon this notification, the operation of restricting access to the cell2 from the UE is stopped by an MME, and thereafter, communication between the UE and the cell2 is started in Step ST1422.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to communication systems, and more particularly, to efficient data scheduling in systems having a supplemental uplink carrier (SUL) configured. In some aspects, a method for wireless communications by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The UE receives signaling configuring the UE for uplink control channel transmission on a primary uplink carrier (PUL) or a SUL. The SUL is an uplink carrier not paired to a downlink carrier. The UE monitors in at least one search space for downlink control information (DCI) scheduling the UE for uplink data transmission to a cell on the PUL or the SUL. The UE sends one or more uplink data transmissions to the cell on the primary uplink carrier or the supplemental uplink carrier based on the DCI.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method and apparatus for announcing the expected delay period between when a wireless AP stops transmitting on a first channel and begins transmitting on a second channel. After the last beacon frame is send on an old channel, a delay is experienced between transmitting the last frame on the old channel and transmitting the first frame on the new channel, where the delay varies based on the implementation of the AP and any CAC that must be performed on the new channel before broadcasting. Therefore, embodiments of the present invention provide an expected channel switch time element, for example, in a beacon frame or probe response frame.
